Board of Directors
has elected John G.
Morikis to serve
as the company’s
next chief executive officer, effective
January 1, 2016.
Morikis has served as Sherwin-Williams’
president and chief operating officer since
October 2006 and will assume the CEO
duties currently held by chairman and
CEO Christopher M. Connor. Connor,
who has held the title of chairman and
CEO for the past 16 years, will remain
at the company in the role of executive
chairman. Morikis was also elected to
the Company’s Board of Directors effective immediately.
“This announcement today marks the
successful culmination of a multi-year or-
ganizational succession plan to identify
the absolute best candidate to assume
leadership of the Company,” said Connor.
“John has been an important member
of our senior leadership team for many
years and is one of the key architects of
the Company’s current organizational
structure and strategy. His success over
the years is a direct result of focusing on
customer needs, his in-depth knowledge
of the coatings market and his dedication
to hiring and developing terrific people.
With this transition, John becomes only
the ninth CEO in Sherwin-Williams’ 150
year history. He is the right leader, and he
is surrounded by the right team, to take
Sherwin-Williams to the next level.”
Morikis joined Sherwin-Williams in
1984 as a management trainee in the com-
pany’s Paint Stores Group. He has held
many key leadership positions during
his thirty-one year career with Sherwin-
Williams. During his nine-year tenure as
president and COO the Company grew
from $7.8 billion in revenues and earn-
ings per share of $4.19 to more than
$11 billion in revenues and earnings per
share of $8.78 last year. As President
of the Paint Stores segment, he led the
Group through one of the most aggressive growth phases in Company history.
Under his leadership, Paint Stores Group
grew from approximately $3 billion in
sales through 2,400 company operated
paint stores to nearly $5 billion in sales
through more than 3,100 stores, bolstering Sherwin-Williams’ position as the
leading architectural coatings company
in North America.
Morikis serves on the board of
Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc.
His professional and community board
engagements include the Joint Center for
Housing Studies Policy Advisory Board
at Harvard University and the Board
of Directors of the University Hospital
Ahuja Medical Center.
Troy Appoints Beck VP and
General Counsel
Troy Corporation has appointed Jan S.
Beck vice president and general coun-sel. Beck joined Troy in 2014 as vice
president, mergers & acquisitions, and
was responsible for orchestrating the
company’s acquisition of a major competitor’s industrial biocides business. In
his new position, he will be responsible
for Troy’s legal matters, as well as representing the company in a broad array of
business endeavors.
Prior to joining Troy, Beck served as
chief financial officer and chief legal officer for Communications International,
Inc. since 2010. Previously, he was president and COO of StarCapital Corp. from
2002 to 2009, and served as president
and CEO of the Turbary Group from
1997 to 2002. Prior to Turbary, Beck
served in numerous executive positions in
the ADT group of companies, including
vice president & general counsel of ADT,
Inc., as well as senior vice president and
member of the Board of Directors of ADT
Security Services, Inc.
Elevance Elects New CEO,
Tony Parnell
Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc. has
announced that its Board of Directors
has appointed Tony Parnell as the company’s chief executive officer. Parnell
succeeds K’Lynne Johnson, who has
transitioned to a new role as executive chairperson of Elevance’s Board of
Directors.

Operations Appoints Chad
Anderson as Site Director
Chad Anderson has been named as
the new site director for Huntsman
Corporation’s Port Neches Operations
in Port Neches, Texas. Anderson first
joined Huntsman in 2003 as a C4 butadiene plant Six Sigma black belt. He
was promoted to operations manager
- F4 & F6 Ethylene Oxide units, G5/
G6 Ethylene Glycol units and Receiving
and Shipping. In 2005, he was appointed as operations manager - PO/MTBE
and led many reliability and production
improvements during his five years in
this role.
Mark Peters Joins Orion
Engineered Carbons
Mark Peters has joined Orion Engineered
Carbons as senior vice president & general manager, Americas Region. Based
at Orion’s Americas’ headquarters in
Kingwood, Texas, Peters is responsible
for all aspects of company performance
in the Americas.
Peters is a 28-year veteran of petrochemical manufacturing. He spent 24
years with The Dow Chemical Company,
where he held leadership positions in engineering; plant, site and global business
management; and joint venture development. Prior to joining Orion Engineered
Carbons, Peters served as manufacturing
vice president for Goradia Capital, LLC,
and business development director for
Braskem Americas. CW
