Axalta Expands Powder
Supply Capability in
Southern California
Axalta Coating Systems has announced
the expansion of its powder supply capabilities in the Southern California region. Axalta’s new local delivery service
provides daily deliveries expanding as far
north as Oxnard, California and as far
south as Fontana, California. This new
service will focus on increasing the powder coating offerings – like our Alesta,
Nap-Gard, and Abcite brands – that are
available in areas with a higher Axalta
customer population.
“We recognized that our customers
needed powder delivered periodically
during the week,” explained Bill Owens,
Axalta’s Southern regional manager,
Powder Coatings North America. “By of-
fering a dedicated delivery service to this
area, we hope to better support the needs
of our job coater customers.”
The new delivery offering is designed
to help ensure that customers receive the
products they need faster and more effec-
tively. Axalta’s dedicated truck services a
50-mile radius consisting of four routes
in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and
Inland Empire areas. Using a climate
controlled, 26-foot refrigerated, Axalta
branded truck, this additional offering is
intended to help Axalta increase its cus-
tomer support on the West Coast.
Cromax Signs Partnership
Agreement with Punch
Powertrain Solar Team in
Belgium for Solar Car
Cromax, one of the three premium
global refinish brands of Axalta Coating
Systems, has signed an agreement
with Punch Powertrain Solar Team in
Belgium to become one of the team’s
Bronze Partners for the development of
its solar car.
Under the terms of the agreement,
Cromax supplies the paint for the special
solar car that a team of young students
– the Punch Powertrain Solar Team - is
designing and building. The car is being
painted at the latest generation Cromax
Training Centre in Mechelen, Belgium
– the brand’s training headquarters for
Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
– and the livery, which includes the
Cromax logo, will be unveiled in August
2015. The car will compete in the 2015
World Solar Challenge - regarded as the
world championship for solar vehicles -
in October in Australia.
The team, which is comprised of
16 talented students studying electrical
engineering and electro-mechanics at
the University of Leuven, Belgium, is in
the final stages of constructing the car.
