Wanda Smith Appointed
Managing Director of
Teknos Treffert in Malaysia
Wanda Smith has been appointed managing director of Teknos Treffert Malaysia.
Smith will be responsible for the Teknos
operations in Malaysia and South-East
Asia. She will have a key role in developing and managing the operation to support Teknos’ growth plan in the Asian
markets.
For the past 14 years Wanda has been
responsible for the Group Corporate
Affairs activities, ranging from legal administration including commercial contracts, people development, corporate
communications, PR, CI/CD and marketing for the Feyco Treffert Group. Her
wide experience within corporate affairs,
long experience in the coatings markets
and multinational background are perfect combinations when taking over the
new role as managing director. Smith reports to Marcel Dissel, Strategic Business
Director, Industrial Wood.
Teknos completed the acquisition of
Feyco Treffert, a company specializing
in wood coatings in May 2017. The acquisition is an important part of Teknos’
growth strategy providing Teknos an
access to new markets in Switzerland,
Malaysia, and the U.S., and strengthening
its position in the wood segment globally,
the company reported.
Pilot Chemical Company
Names New EHS Manager
Jason Denlinger has been named Pilot
Chemical Company’s new corporate environmental, health and safety (EHS)
manager. He will oversee the development and implementation of health and
safety programs and maintain Pilot’s
commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
Denlinger brings more than 20 years
of experience in managing EHS programs
and most recently served as director of
EHS at AGC Glass Company North
America in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dow Announces
Changes in Key
Executive Leadership Roles
The Dow Chemical Company announced several changes in key executive
leadership roles. Pedro Suarez, currently
Dow’s North American geographical
president, has been named chief commercial officer and will take over these
responsibilities from Joe Harlan, who has
elected to retire from the company at the
close of the Dow DuPont merger. R. Matt
Davis, Dow’s corporate vice president of
Public and Government Affairs, will add
North America geographical president to
his existing responsibilities and has been
named a senior vice president.
Suarez has served Dow in a variety
of commercial, marketing and leadership roles throughout the globe since
joining the company in 1979. He will
remain located in Chicago and report to
Jim Fitterling, president and chief operating officer.
Davis has served in a variety of communications, public and government affairs leadership roles since joining Dow
in 1987. He will remain based in Midland
and report to Fitterling for his North
America geographic responsibilities, and
continue to be aligned to Andrew Liveris,
Dow’s chairman and CEO, for his Public
and Government Affairs role.
Harlan joined Dow in 2011 after
more than three decades of leading key
business and commercial activities at
other Fortune 500 companies. Harlan is
a member of Dow’s Executive Leadership
Council, and his deep insights have been
critical in Dow’s transformation to a mar-ket-driven enterprise.
D.B. Becker Hires David
Hyde as Account Manager
D.B. Becker, a Maroon Group company
and distributor of specialty resins, addi-
tives, pigments and packaging, has ap-
pointed David Hyde to the position of
account manager. Hyde will be covering
Tennessee, Northern Georgia,
South Carolina, and parts of
other surrounding states in the
South Eastern Region.
For more than 19 years, Hyde has
served the coatings and thermoset plastics industries in various product development, technical service and technical
management roles. Hyde transitioned
from a technical role into a sales role
three and a half years ago.

Rick Knubley as Account
Manager
CNX Distribution, a Maroon Group
company and a distributor of specialty
chemicals to the paint & coatings, ink,
plastics, rubber, sealants & adhesives,
elastomers, oil & gas, and miscellaneous
chemical processing industries, has appointed Rick Knubley as its newest account manager covering the Greater
Gulf Coast area. This includes Houston,
Beaumont, and Port Arthur, Texas, as
well as Lake Charles, Lafayette, and the
Geismar, Louisiana areas.
Knubley has more than 27 years of
distribution sales in the chemical business, including Univar and Brenntag.
During his career, he has taken on major
projects for high-end customers involving the optimization of water treatment
systems, the design and installation of a
specialty chemical blending system for an
oil & gas customer, and other projects,
which have netted companies new business profitability.

household/industrial industries, has hired
Matt Driver as its newest account manager in Southern California.
Driver’s role will be to cultivate new
and current customer relationships within Southern California. With more than
fours years of experience in specialty materials distribution, he held roles in chemical procurement and sales in Connecticut
