rollouts
Remote control: Psion Teklogix, a developer of mobile computing
solutions, has upgraded its device management software, Mobile
Control Center (MCC). As with earlier versions of the software, the
new product, MCC Version 6.03, enables customers to manage
both Psion Teklogix and non-Psion devices remotely.
MCC software features a user-friendly interface, powerful functionality, and reliable scalability, according to the company. The
software allows customers to monitor, troubleshoot, and fix their
devices from afar without disrupting the mobile workflow.
New features in the MCC version 6.03 include location services,
which allow GPS-based devices to be located and tracked in real
time, and data collection and analysis capabilities. (Psion Teklogix,

A-door-ation: Rite-Hite Corp. introduces the Rite-Flex sectional
door. This modular sectional door allows customers to design
doors to match their unique operating environments.
Flexible and impactable panels serve as the core design element of every Rite-Flex door. Users can also complement the flexible panels with specially engineered panels and/or slats in key
areas of the door to allow daylight into the building or to facilitate
ventilation. Installing a customized door rather than a traditional
sectional door leads to increased door uptime, higher dock productivity, and energy savings, according to the company.
The highly durable Rite-Flex door is available in two- or three-inch thicknesses and overall sizes of up to 12 feet wide and 14
feet high. (Rite-Hite Corp., www.ritehite.com)
Spin city: Ryson, a manufacturer of
vertical conveying solutions, has
announced two additions to its Dual
Spiral product line. Along with its current models, which have dual 12-
inch-wide and dual 16-inch-wide
slats, the company now offers models with dual 8-inch-wide and dual
20-inch-wide slats.
Like their predecessors, the new
Ryson Dual Track Spirals are engineered so that two tracks operate
within one spiral structure. Both tracks can go up or down, with
reversible operation available as an option. Each track requires only
one drive motor, resulting in substantial savings in energy, controls,
and systems integration.
Ryson says its spiral conveyors need less floor space than conventional conveyors and are faster and more reliable than many
elevators and lifts. (Ryson, www.ryson.com)
Cool performance: Glacier Computer, a developer of rugged
industrial computing solutions, offers the Ridgeline T100 tablet
computer. This industrial tablet is designed for mobile computing
functions in challenging environments, including distribution,
freight operations, and the shop floor.
The Ridgeline T100 has an 8.4-inch color LCD display with a
resistive touch screen. It offers wireless communication via integrated 802.11 radio and Bluetooth, allowing users to move freely
about a facility while remaining connected to the network and
peripherals. The computer has a sealed IP54 housing, multiple
input/output options, and a hot swap battery function, making the
T100 tablet suitable for workers requiring both portability and
ready access to critical data.
The Ridgeline T100 uses Microsoft’s popular Windows CE operating system, which allows for long battery life, instant on/off, and
minimal solid-state hard drive needs, according to the company.
