Intelligrated upgrades zone-control features: Intelligrated is
upgrading the zone-control features of its Accuglide and IntelliQ
powered-roller accumulation case conveyors.
The new zone-control upgrades include an enhanced sleep
mode to reduce noise, energy usage, and equipment wear. In
addition, jam-detec-tion logic identifies
flow interruptions and
command zone shutdowns. New visible
status lights as well as
device- and system-level diagnostics help
to streamline maintenance. An on-board
independent logic
controller stores commands to reduce programming requirements and central computer communication.
Other improvements in these conveyors include efficient high-speed rollers for quieter operation and reduced equipment wear,
along with low-profile drives for reduced equipment elevations.
Accuglide is a chain-driven accumulation conveyor that accumulates product through up to three 90-degree curves with a
single drive. IntelliQ is a belt-driven accumulation conveyor
designed for simplified maintenance and minimal noise.

CoPilot Truck Optimized by Qualcomm: ALK Technologies
Inc. has unveiled its CoPilot Truck Optimized by Qualcomm navigation solution. The solution is designed to operate on
Qualcomm Inc.’s Mobile Computing Platform (MCP) 200 and
110. A fully on-board navigation solution, CoPilot Truck calculates optimal truck-specific routes without using mobile communications and off-board computations. It also provides constant
access to reliable on-board highway and street maps.
CoPilot Truck combines ALK’s CoPilot Truck commercial truck
GPS navigation solution, PC-Miler routing, and Qualcomm’s In-Motion User Interface (IMUI) design, while also providing text-to-speech functionality. The solution automatically generates voice-guided and truck-specific turn-by-turn directions. CoPilot Truck
will instantly calculate a new route if a driver misses a turn or
strays from his planned route.
CoPilot Truck uses up-to-date, street-level ALK Digital Maps of
the United States and Canada, enhanced with PC*MILER truck-specific attributes and millions of points of interest, including truck
services, truck stops, rest areas, and weigh stations. All of these are
stored on board the MCP200 and MCP110 devices. This driver-centric navigation solution delivers routes based on custom vehicle
profiles, routing parameters, and load-specific information.
Advanced navigation features include two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and Driver Safety guidance views with real signpost
information, and detailed voice instructions using text-to-speech
technology to pronounce full street names. (ALK Technologies
