Supply chain analytics: Voice system provider Voxware has introduced Intellestra, a cloud-based predictive modeling and supply chain analytics platform.

The platform provides warehouse managers and supervisors with a real-time aggregation view of all the data across the entire supply chain from sales forecasting systems to transportation management systems, shipping manifests, and proof of delivery. Supply chain leaders at every level of the retail operation from shift supervisor to vice president of supply chain operations will be able to manage every aspect of picking, shipping, and distribution of products in real time, according to the company.

The predictive modeling application will allow users to run various scenarios, weigh actions versus consequences, and make recommendations for the best course of action.

Intellestra is what Voxware calls a “ pur-pose-driven supply chain modeling” function, meaning that once a user’s IT operation performs the initial setup, the supply chain operation can make adjustments without involving the IT department each time. (Voxware, www. voxware.com/)

Battery charger:

Douglas Battery has introduced the new high-speed, fully automatic high-frequency Raptor Rapid charger for large-scale multishift industrial lift truck applications. The The Raptor Rapid has a modular configuration that is available for both wall and floor mounting. If a module faults, the charger bypasses the module in order for charging to continue to keep operations productive.

The new charger returns batteries to a full state of charge without generating excess heat. As a result, it reduces energy use and protects the battery from the risk of damage.

The new charger is compatible with the Douglas DataTrac battery monitoring system, which collects data about the battery’s usage, charge return, water level, temperature, and equalization. (Douglas Battery, www.douglas-battery.com)

Automatic bagger: Automated Packaging Systems says its new bag packaging system, the Autobag

850S Mail Order Fulfillment Bagger, includes unique features that make it different from any other bagging system on the market. The machine can handle flexible plastic mailing bags up to 22 inches wide—two inches wider than any other automatic bagger. A new bag opening design grabs and securely grips the bag in an open position of up to

11 inches by 11 inches, ready to be filled with bulky products or multiple items.

New safety features, such as pressure sensors that pause the closing and sealing process if anything touches the bag loading mechanism, have allowed the company to eliminate the guards and safety switches that are typical of bag packaging machines. As a result, operators have unobstructed access to the bags and can fill them more quickly and efficiently.

Customs brokerage: ICAT Logistics Inc., an agency-based freight forwarder in the U.S., has formed a new subsidiary entity, ICAT Customs Brokerage. The new entity has been awarded a corporate customs brokers license, eliminating ICAT’s need for a third-party broker. Certified as a remote location filer, ICAT Customs Brokerage can file entries and Import Security Filings (ISFs) nationwide, provided the importer has a continuous bond on file.
