Allegro, the most popular auction website in Poland, has relied on Mecalux
for the supply and installation of pallet
racking and an area to carry out picking
in its new distribution center located in
Blonie, on the outskirts of Warsaw.
The warehouse has two blocks of pallet racking that can store more than 13,000;pallets
of 31. 5” x 47” and a maximum weight of
1,763 lb each. The smallest block occupies
an area of more than 16,684 ft2 and consists of six 146’ long aisles of 26’ high pallet
racking. The largest block, of approximately
47,900;ft2, has ten 256’ long aisles and racking that is 28’ high.
Furthermore, there is a picking area set up
consisting of a block of racks with gangways
occupying close to 21,528 ft2 and a mezza-
nine of 9,688 ft2. Both solutions are connect-
ed by a circuit of conveyors that streamlines
the flow of movement and reduces order
preparation times. Founded in 1999 as an
auction website, currently more than 85%
of the products offered by Allegro’s e-com-
merce platform are brand new items. The
company has more than 20 million registered
users, selling 840,000 items on average per
day and has 1,270 employees that work in its
centers in Poznań, Warsaw, Toruń, Wrocław
and Krakow, all in Poland.
Mecalux equips the new Allegro distribution center
Odlewnia ;eliwa Lisie K;ty, a manufacturer and distributor of iron molds and die cast
iron for industrial use, has hired Mecalux
to construct a clad-rack warehouse in the
town of Grudzi;dz (Poland) with a storage
capacity of more than 7,500 units weighing
a maximum of 1,764 lb.
The warehouse will be composed of two
aisles with 59’ high, 59’ long single-depth
racking on both sides.
A twin-mast stacker crane in each aisle will
carry out the fully automatic input and output of goods.
The Mecalux Easy warehouse management
system and Galileo Control module are included in the provision, which will give movement commands to the two stacker cranes in
the facility.
Odlewnia Żeliwa Lisie Kąty is a Polish manufacturer of iron molds and die cast iron used
in all sorts of industries.
Founded in 1989, they currently sell products in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France,
Sweden, Denmark and United Kingdom, and
plan to continue expanding into other European markets.
