The agricultural company Hacienda La
Albuera has requested that Mecalux
construct and commission a 66’ high
clad-rack cold storage installation, with
a capacity for over 5,800 containers of
39” x 47”.
The warehouse will be composed of two
aisles with double-deep racking on both
sides. A twin-mast stacker crane will circulate in each one, responsible for carrying out the automatic entry and exit of
the goods.
The racks are 151’ long and six levels high.
Each location will accommodate four
stacked containers.
In the design of the cold storage, future expansion is planned to increase the storage
capacity, taking into account the growth
curve of the company.
Hacienda La Albuera is a very young company, founded in 2015 in the town of Guareña
(Extremadura, Spain). It is dedicated to the
production and sale of agricultural products.

Puratos maintains its growth with a new
high-capacity warehouse
Mecalux will set up a new 95’ high automated clad-rack warehouse for Puratos,
the breads and baked goods manufacturer, in the town of Sils (Girona). Since
arriving to Spain in 1962, the company
has always sought out the collaboration
of Mecalux when looking for the most
appropriate solutions to fulfill its logistical needs.
The warehouse, consisting of three aisles
with double-deep racking, will have a capac-
ity for more than 10,000 pallets of two dif-
ferent sizes: 31. 5” x 39” and 39” x 47”. The
facility will be directly linked to the produc-
tion center by means of a tunnel. The storage
temperature will be controlled to guarantee
the optimum condition of the goods; two
aisles must be kept at 68 °F and one at 57;°F.
Within the supply, the Mecalux Easy WMS
warehouse management system will be im-
plemented. It will be permanently connect-
ed to the customer’s ERP to exchange orders
and information, aiming for the maximum
improvement of warehouse throughput.
