The M300XL glasses feature a new 16-megapixel camera that is equipped with
improved autofocus and image-stabilized performance, allowing users to more
rapidly scan bar codes. According to the company, bar codes can be scanned
in roughly one second, which is two to three times faster than previous Vuzix
Smart Glasses devices. The M300XL glasses support a telephoto lens add-on that
enables long-range scanning and even faster bar-code scanning. (Vuzix Corp.,

Work assist vehicle: Crown Equipment
Corp. says its Wave Work Assist Vehicle is
designed with features to help users achieve
a greater level of safety, efficiency, and flexibility for applications where ladders, scaffolding, and work platforms are typically used
to access high places, such as those found
in retail, manufacturing, and warehousing
settings.
Better known as the Wave, the Crown
Work Assist Vehicle is ideal for workers stocking small loads and products in busy, confined spaces, as well as for picking and order
fulfillment, the manufacturer says. The Wave
can travel and lift simultaneously so operators can move around a facility while raising
and lowering to the appropriate heights
in one smooth, seamless operation. With
travel speeds of up to 5 miles an hour and
maneuverability in tight spaces, the Wave can
reduce downtime and increase efficiency in
the workplace, the company adds.
The Wave was designed with work lights
for increased visibility, strobe lights to allow
for detection, and platform safety sensors and
dual foot pedals to provide for safe operation.
The onboard charging unit facilitates recharging using a standard power outlet. (Crown
