roadtrip
With the intermodal industry growing at an exponential rate, it can be hard for
shippers and service providers to keep up with the latest trends and developments.
The annual expo organized by the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA)
provides an opportunity to check out the latest products and services while learning
more about today’s issues and challenges.
The IANA Intermodal Expo 2015, which takes place Sept. 20 through 22 in Fort
Lauderdale, Fla., is designed for all industry stakeholders, including third-party logistics service providers, ocean carriers, motor carriers and drayage companies, railroads,
equipment manufacturers and leasing companies, technology vendors, and shippers.
In addition to the expo itself, which includes exhibits from more than 100 product
and service providers, the show includes two days of educational sessions cospon-sored by the freight transportation information company FTR and the Transportation
Intermediaries Association (TIA).
Each day of the education conference opens with a panel discussion by a group of
consultants and analysts. The first day looks at the forecast (or “freightcast”) for the
intermodal industry for the upcoming year; on the second day, analysts will share
their picks for the intermodal industry’s current “winners.”
Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour the Port Everglades/Florida East
Coast Railway Intermodal Container Transfer Facility and the Fort Lauderdale–
Hollywood International Airport.
Qualified shippers and beneficial cargo owners can attend the conference for free.
