Electric forklift: Toyota Industrial Equipment
has launched its new 3-Wheel Electric Forklift.
The new line includes 3,000- to 4,000-pound
capacity models with battery compartments
ranging from 17. 7 to 25. 1 inches and more
than 30 improvements to boost performance,
efficiency, stability, and operator comfort.
Toyota’s new 3-Wheel Electric forklift features improved run times and increased travel
and lift speeds, according to the company.
The new model comes equipped with wet disc
brakes and a new turn-speed control system.
The turn-speed control system increases the
forklift’s lateral stability by slowing it down
when an operator attempts to turn at high
speeds.
The truck’s ergonomic improvements include
a smaller steering wheel, a foot parking brake,
and a full-suspension seat that is adjustable for
various weights. Customers can also choose
an optional rear assist grip with horn to
make reverse travel more comfortable, improve
peripheral vision, and keep the operator’s
hands protected within the compartment.

Inventory management software: Softeon’s
Plan2Fulfill solution optimizes inventory levels
and deployment in consideration of near-term
forecasts. Plan2Fulfill is a tightly integrated
closed-loop solution that optimizes demand
and inventory management, connected with
fulfillment execution.
Softeon’s Plan2Fulfill solution includes a
forecasting engine that provides more than
30 forecast models, matching the right model
to each product based on its history and other
parameters. It also has “demand sensing”
capabilities that adjust near-term forecasts
based on point-of-sale or other demand signals
on a continuous basis. The solution’s inventory management functionality dynamically sets
target inventory levels across the network
and automatically creates replenishment orders
based on a variety of parameters.
Plan2Fulfill also offers a “milestone management” module that enables users to see and
manage key events across a product’s lifecycle,
from conception through launch and beyond.
Its integrated procurement functionality creates
orders for vendors in a way that minimizes
total supply chain costs, and its warehouse
management system powers actual DC order
fulfillment across channels.
Softeon’s Plan2Fulfill solution offers a number of additional features, such as the ability to
forecast demand for components of a finished
product. (Softeon, www.softeon.com)
Mobile printer: Two Technologies Inc. has unveiled
a mobile device with printing capability that is rugged
enough for transportation, logistics, and other industrial applications. The N5Print is an all-in-one device
that can handle communications, data input, credit
card transactions, photography, scanning, and on-the-spot printing.
The N5Print lets users print three-inch receipts or
other data directly from the integrated thermal printer.
The unit’s color camera, audio, and video recording
functions allow drivers to capture multiple types of
data and store it in N5Print’s 16GB internal memory
and 64GB MicroSD.
The handheld device features a rain-resistant touch-screen. Data can be uploaded even if other activities
are being executed. In case of an emergency in the
field, the N5Print allows users to send an SMS text
message while running an unrelated application or no
application at all.
The N5Print, which runs on the Android OS version
4. 4. 4 (KitKat), features a hot-swappable battery, a three-channel magnetic stripe
reader, nearfield communication, a smart card reader, and a dedicated bar-code
scanner. A drop-in cradle with spare battery charger may be used for desktop
or vehicle mounting. The device is IP65-rated and meets or exceeds MIL-STD
810G using method 516.6 and method 514.6 for both shock and vibration. (Two
