All-in-one trailer nose box: Lowell, Arkansas-based battery
solutions company Purkeys has introduced its OneConnect (with
interior light control) nose box, which was designed to streamline
tractor/trailer electrical systems via a cost-effective, user-friendly,
energy-saving, and space-efficient device. The OneConnect with
interior light control nose box consolidates electrical connections into one easily adjustable system with built-in light control
capabilities. It was designed for fleets that do not need liftgate
charging systems but could benefit from a multi-use nose box
that eliminates the need for multiple nose boxes and the associated clutter and upkeep frustrations. The OneConnect also features
a downward-facing receptacle that prevents water buildup and
corrosion. (Purkeys, www.purkeys.net)
Remote-control unit for
order pickers: Mitsubishi
Caterpillar Forklift America
Inc. (MCFA), the provider of
Jungheinrich lift trucks and
narrow-aisle products in the
U.S., Canada, and Mexico, has
released a remote-control unit for its ECE series low-level order
pickers that’s designed to maximize picking efficiency.
The Jungheinrich easyPilot Follow semi-automatic control unit
allows the order picker to follow its operator, enabling error-free
picking processes and maximum efficiency in the warehouse. The
unit connects via wireless technology through a controller that
the operator wears or carries. With its reliable connection, the lift
truck is able to follow the operator with extreme accuracy as he
or she moves forward and stops.
The remote-control unit uses modern laser scanners to continuously check the area in front of the truck. This helps provide
safe and reliable navigation and positioning in rack aisles. If the
scanners detect an obstacle in the order picker’s path, the truck
stops. This feature eliminates the risk of the truck’s failing to
respond due to visual obstacles or other sources of interference.

Conveyor rollers: Senergy motor drive rollers (MDRs) from
Pulseroller are powerful, efficient, and versatile solutions suitable
for virtually any unit-handling conveying application, according
to the manufacturer. Senergy MDRs can reach speeds of up to
1,000 feet per minute, with a starting torque of up to 215 inches
per pound, the company says. The combination of speed and
power allows the MDRs to be used in lower-speed heavy-duty
applications such as pallet handling, as well as for high-speed carton or tote handling. According to the company, Senergy MDRs
utilize a safe and effective 24VDC power supply and consume up
to 60% less energy than alternatives.
Senergy’s power and efficiency are derived from a unique
planetary gearbox design and a powerful brushless DC motor.
Typically used in zero-pressure accumulation or roller transportation applications, Senergy features only 11 gearbox combinations. Pulseroller offers a base Senergy model as well as the
Senergy Ai (advanced intelligence). The base model is designed
for use with JST connectors and utilizes eight wires for connection to the control card, while the Ai works with M8-style connectors and uses just four wires for connecting to the controller.

RFID-enabled impact indicator: SpotSee, a provider of supply
chain damage monitoring solutions, has unveiled a new device
that combines impact-damage monitoring with radio-frequency
identification (RFID) technology. Called “ShockWatch RFID,” the
new indicator is designed to track damage through the supply
chain and identify affected inventory.
According to the company, ShockWatch RFID delivers all the
benefits of a damage-monitoring program while also providing an electronic record of information in the user’s enterprise
resource planning (ERP) system or warehouse management
system, or directly into the SpotSee Cloud. By gathering data
throughout the supply chain, ShockWatch RFID helps customers
quickly identify where damage is occurring, allowing users to
isolate damaged inventory for further inspection and determine
the root cause.
Each ShockWatch RFID unit is fitted with an NXP UCODE
G2iM+ passive RFID chip, which can be scanned with any standard ultra-high-frequency (UHF) RFID reader. (SpotSee, www.

High-density cantilever rack: Steel King Industries Inc., a manufacturer of material handling products and systems, has added
its I-Beam cantilever rack to the company’s Quick Ship program,
which offers products for delivery within two weeks of the order
date. Quick Ship makes configuration easy—users can choose from
two heights and three bay widths,
each with pre-kitted bracing.
The I-Beam cantilever rack was
designed to maximize storage capacity and density. It allows users to clear
their floors of stacked long, heavy,
odd-shaped items such as piping,
conduit, sheet metal, building materials, or cable spools. With no need
for a front column, cantilever rack is
faster to load and unload than standard pallet racks, the company says. By saving horizontal space
normally lost to rack structure, the design reduces fork-truck
damage and saves time otherwise spent on double handling in
other, more cumbersome floor storage systems.
Built for either one- or two-sided configurations, the I-Beam
cantilever rack is constructed of I-beam structural steel with a
50,000-pounds-per-square-inch (psi) minimum yield. Arms are
secured to the columns with grade 5 bolted connections, and
bases are bolted to columns. The heavy arm connector plate
remains rigid even under heavy loads, the manufacturer says.

TSA-compliant export service: A. Duie Pyle, a provider of asset
and nonasset-based transportation and supply chain solutions
in the Northeast, now offers a TSA-compliant export service for
customers with international shipping needs. In this capacity, Pyle
can now directly handle air freight from origin point to export
location.
The company says its TSA-Compliant Air Export Service guarantees international cargo will be handled by a team of professionally trained staff who possess the necessary security clearances and customer-service experience for transporting shipments to
export locations. (A. Duie Pyle, www.aduiepyle.com)
