time energy cost savings. Customizable energy and occupancy trend indicators are designed
to monitor facility performance and inform energy usage forecasts. New reporting and sharing functions allow users to validate cost savings and energy usage, and apply a wealth of
occupancy and asset management information to the benefit of their organization’s bottom
line. (Digital Lumens, www.digitallumens.com)
Hazardous location light fixture: Larson Electronics, an industrial lighting specialist,
has released a hazardous location fluorescent light fixture equipped with a polycarbonate
lens for use within Class 1, Division 2 areas.
The HALS-48-4L-PC-T8 hazardous location fluorescent light fixture is suitable for use in
industrial locations where wet conditions and chemical/petrochemical vapors may be encountered. The housing on this unit is constructed of powder-coated 16-gauge steel for durability
and contains a hinged reflector and ballast tray for easy servicing. The lamps are held in place
by spring-loaded sockets and protected by a hinged polycarbonate door secured with four
turn latches. The hazardous location fixture is equipped with four 32-watt T8 lamps that
produce 2,800 lumens each.
The fixture carries a T4A temperature rating and is approved for Class 1, Division 2, Groups
A, B, C, and D hazardous areas where wet conditions and chemical/petrochemical vapors
may be encountered. This unit is universal voltage, operating on any voltage ranging from
120 volts AC to 277 volts AC, and features multiple half-inch NPT wiring hubs for connection.
This fixture is surface mounted with two brackets attached to each end of the light that allow
the operator to adjust the angle of the entire fixture once it’s mounted. Pendant and cable
mounting options are available for operators who wish to mount these fixtures away from
the ceiling surface.
The new design of a polycarbonate lens makes this fixture safe for food processing plants
in addition to locations where chemical vapors could exist, the company says. This fixture
provides a total of 128 watts, while each lamp offers a 24,000 hour rated service life. (Larson

Waterproof LED fixture: Big Ass Light has
unveiled its new waterproof, ultra-bright, ener-gy-efficient LED fixture purpose built for tough
locations where conditions get dirty.
The Big Ass Light Washdown LED is completely
sealed to protect electronic components from
moisture and grime. U.S. and international wet
ratings ensure the fixture can be hosed off as
easily as wiped off. The unit can be installed in any indoor or outdoor facility, from factory
to warehouse to loading bay to maintenance area, regardless of exposure to humidity or
inclement weather.
The heavy-duty Washdown LED produces 24,000 lumens, creating the same floor-level
brightness as a 400-watt high-intensity discharge lamp using about half the energy. A wide
range of mounting options and three light diffuser options, which produce wide, normal, and
narrow beams, allow for complete customization of grid layout for maximum light coverage.
The die-cast aluminum alloy heat sink encasing the LEDs provides superior heat dissipation,
allowing the fixture to reach a rated life of up to 110,000 hours, 25 years of use at 12 hours
daily. With no bulbs to swap, maintenance on the fixture is nearly nonexistent aside from the
occasional spray-down in dirty parts of a facility.
The high-efficiency LED driver accepts 120 to 277V universal voltage input, with standard
0 to 10V dimming and 10kV surge protection. (Big Ass Light, www.bigasslight.com)
