Lighting system: Acuity Brands Inc., an indoor and outdoor lighting and energy management solutions provider, has
introduced a new LightFlex CCT concept system from Sunoptics
that allows the daylighting system to achieve color temperatures
similar to those utilized in commercial lighting systems. This
enhanced color quality creates a warmer, smoother, more uniform color, making it suitable for daylighting applications where
enhanced aesthetics are desired.
The LightFlex CCT is a tubular prismatic daylighting solution for
suspended-ceiling applications. It uses a remote phosphor panel
to integrate seamlessly with electric light fixtures in shared environments. The color temperature of LightFlex CCT will range on
average between 3,600 and 3,700 Kelvin (K) depending on the
time of day, which closely mirrors commercial lighting systems in
the 3,500K to 4,000K range. This integration enables architects
and lighting designers to minimize the color temperature variation between the electric and natural light sources.
Acuity daylighting product solutions for commercial buildings
feature prismatic skylights, LED lighting, and integrated lighting
controls, such as photocontrol and occupancy sensing, which
can typically reduce electric lighting costs by 80 percent. (Acuity

Industrial lights: Phillips Industries has introduced new
lighting products to the Permalite XT family. The new lights
include a 4.0-inch round reverse light and a 3/4-inch round
hard-wired light for multiple applications. New adapter plates for
upgrading to 3/4-inch LED lights have also been added.
The 4.0-inch round clear reverse light with Boardfree technology and nine diodes comes in either flange or grommet mount.
The lights can be mounted in any direction and still meet SAE R
and DOT specifications. Constructed of ABS and acrylic material,
the lights offer superior durability and are impact resistant, as
well as resistant to corrosion, harsh chemicals, and UV exposure.
The integrated male three-pin AMP connector is sealed and
greased to keep corrosion-causing contaminants out.
The 3/4-inch round hard-wired lights are being introduced as
an alternative where space is restricted. They are constructed
with a polycarbonate lens, and the housing is sealed to protect
the three diodes inside from outside contaminants and moisture.
The new lights are available with a variety of lens colors and wiring configurations. All hard-wired lights include their correlating
mounting grommet.
The 2.0-inch and 2.5-inch mounting adapter plates constructed of noncorrosive polycarbonate material are being introduced
to upgrade from traditional 2.0-inch and 2.5-inch flange-style
lights to smaller, more efficient LED lights. (Phillips Industries,

Diesel-engine forklifts:
UniCarriers Americas Corp.
(UCA) has introduced its FK
Series diesel engine-pow-ered forklifts with capacity
options between 4,000 and
7,000 pounds, powered by
the new EPA Tier 4 CARB-certified ZD30 diesel industrial
engine. This new advanced
turbo diesel engine utilizes electronically controlled fuel injection,
cooled exhaust gas
recirculation, and a
diesel oxidation catalyst to provide emission levels below EPA
Tier 4 requirements with near elimination of particulate matter.
No regeneration or “burn off” time is required, resulting in more
uptime and increased productivity.
The FK Series offers full-suspension seats with lumbar support
adjustments and noncinching seatbelts for operator comfort and
support. The series’ operator presence system automatically locks
lift and tilt operations when the operator leaves the seat. The
presence system also includes audible and visual warning if either
the seat belt is not engaged or the parking brake has not been
applied prior to the operator exiting the compartment.
Other standard features for the FK Series include a comput-er-controlled electronic engine system with common rail fuel
injection, a cooled-exhaust gas recirculation and diesel oxidation
catalyst, an engine and transmission protection and warning system, and a single-speed power shift transmission with full-float-ing powertrain. (UniCarriers Americas Corp., www.unicarriers
