Wireless headset: Sena Technologies Inc. has
released its Tufftalk headset, a fully Bluetooth-integrated intercom device to both protect the
user and supply a clear communication channel.
Sena’s Tufftalk is designed specifically to meet
the communication and connectivity needs of
industrial applications. Tufftalk boasts a 1.4-km
(0.87 mile) working Bluetooth range and offers
up to 15 hours of uninterrupted intercom communication among up to four headsets. The
headset is compatible with other Bluetooth and
two-way radio devices, including Sena SR10i.
Tufftalk’s secure earmuffs help protect users
from harmful noise with an audio attenuation
of 24dB. The ambient mode feature allows
users to amplify external sounds, generating
greater awareness of surroundings so important
alarms or calls can be heard while still protecting
hearing. For more active applications, Tufftalk
offers an optional hardhat-mount package.
Equipped with HD-quality speakers, Tufftalk
delivers crystal clear audio that industrial mobile
workers need to stay safe on busy and noisy
worksites, the company says. Tufftalk features
Sena’s Advanced Noise-Control technology,
which limits the interference of background
noise while maintaining the full volume of voice
communication.
Sena’s patented Jog Dial design is
glove-friendly and easy to control, while the
Vox technology allows users to answer phone
calls, communicate, and react to voice commands, all while hands free. Tufftalk is also
compatible with a Sena app to configure
settings and presets easily through any smartphone. As with all Sena units, Tufftalk is
completely firmware upgradeable to ensure
it remains compatible with all of the latest
Bluetooth technology. (Sena Technologies Inc.,

Electric brake meter: Innovative Products
of America has introduced the #9107 Electric
Brake Force Meter with dynamic load simulation and circuit testing. Designed for use on
7-spade equipped vehicles, the new technology
automatically recognizes the electronic signature of both integrated trailer brake controllers
and aftermarket trailer brake controllers, simulates trailer load, and displays real-time brake
controller output gain and application timing.
In addition to the electric brake circuit, the tool
is ideal for troubleshooting all truckside tow
circuits, including tail lights and turn signals,
the company says.
The 25-foot cable allows for one man in-cab
testing and is easily stowed inside the provided
soft case. (Innovative Products of America,

Caster wheels: Hamilton Caster has introduced its
Ergo-X2 caster series designed to reduce the force needed to push or pull carts. The new swivel caster design
features two precision machined offsetting ball races in
a compact assembly to minimize one of the final unresolved issues with swivel casters: lock up.
Lock up in this context occurs when the cart is
brought to rest and at least two casters rotate to positions in which two or more
wheels become substantially misaligned. A typical swivel assembly in a caster has
only one pivot point. The Ergo-X2 caster provides a second pivot point that reduces the startup force to get the cart moving when lock up is present.
The benefits of the Ergo-X2 casters are in direct alignment with the company’s
commitment to improve workplace safety and create environments that reduce
musculoskeletal injury. (Hamilton Caster, www.hamiltoncaster.com)
Tilt trucks: Akro-Mils has introduced its Akro-Tilt trucks. The new nestable trucks
come fully assembled and are ready to use upon arrival. As many as four trucks
can stack on a single pallet, the company says.
The versatile Akro-Tilt tipping trucks are designed for heavy-duty work. These
trucks make it easy for one person to handle bulk heavyweight jobs up to 2,000
pounds. Units utilize full frames with steel under the top rim, unlike half frames
offered by other companies. Designed with a wide mouth and low profile for easy
loading, the vehicles feature a one-piece molded body that is easy to clean and
won’t rust, dent, or chip.
Akro-Tilt trucks are available in 14 models including seven with forklift channels,
which allow loaded trucks to be lifted, moved, and maneuvered easily. Optional
lids are available. (Akro-Mils, www.akromils.com)
