Badging system: Data services provider Vypin
LLC and wireless asset-management services
provider LRNi have launched EverView for
WorkForce Management, a wireless Io T badging system that includes workflow status of
services to customers, immediate feedback
when personnel approach an “off-limits”
area, and time and attendance tracking.
The core of the EverView system is the
wireless BadgeTag, which is equipped with
three key radio-frequency (RF) features: the
ability to talk directly (up to 200 feet) with
any smartphone, tablet, or gateway; a second
RF system that interacts with wireless location
spot markers (microZones) whereby a doorway may identify itself directly to the badge;
and nearfield communication for short-range
operations.
Badge Tags are also equipped with motion,
orientation, and activity sensors; customized
sensors are also available. Each BadgeTag
(sealed with a multiyear battery) contains
a long-range assistance request or duress
button.
The “mZone” architecture behind EverView
allows for quick placement of AC- or bat-tery-powered location markers (wireless) as
needed throughout a facility. Employee badges collect the location marker data, combine
it with appropriate sensor data, and forward
the data to LRNi’s local, campus, or enterprise
cloud software. Operational scorecards and
alerts are provided based upon business rules
and operation metrics. (Vypin, www.vypin.

Mobile weighing system: Fairbanks Scales
Inc. has introduced its BlueLine Series forklift
weigh fork system, a mobile weighing system
that’s suitable for pallets, boxes, crates, and
forklift loads. With the new mobile system,
freight companies, warehouses, and inventory management facilities can speed up the
weighing process, increase shipment accuracy, and improve product tracking, the manufacturer says. The system includes the weigh
forks, an instrument, an instrument mounting
bracket, and power couplings.
The on-the-go system converts an existing Class II or Class III cleat-type forklift
into a mobile scale. Completely wireless,
the BlueLine weigh forks use a rechargeable
battery pack that works independently of the
forklift. Weigh fork batteries hold their charge
through 180 hours of continuous use and are
easy to remove for recharging, the manufacturer says. The BlueLine Series instrument can
also be wired to the forklift’s battery power.

Wireless battery-management system: Access Control Group has developed
Cell Trac, a brand-agnostic battery management solution that records crucial battery
performance data (such as voltage, current, electrolyte level, cable temperature,
and water level) and transmits it wirelessly to the cloud-based software AssetPro
360 for analysis and reporting.
Service providers and fleet managers can then run reports on battery usage,
alarms, and events. Reports can provide information on how batteries are performing, if operators are plugging in when they’re supposed to, and whether batteries
are being watered. (Access Control Group, www.theaccessway.com)
