several ISO/ASTM standards with a
single measure.Besides the more
than 20 color indexes, transmittance
and absorbance can be measured at
individual wavelengths, so the LICO
500 can be used universally for analytical purposes.

New product: MicroSeries Agitator
Bead Mills
Attributes/comments: The MicroSeries
wet grinding mills result in particles
down to 20 nanometers in size. Ideal for
small-batch (0.14 to 0.5 liter) laboratory
and sample grinding. The MircroSeries
line comprises three mills, each with
grinding chamber parts fabricated in dif-
ferent materials for specific applications.
New product: MicroPsi
Attributes/comments: MicroPsi
small-batch dispersion system is
used for development of repeatable,
homogenous mixtures with emission-and dust-free inline operation which
helps wet particulate solids with liquid components under vacuum and
micro cavitation conditions.

New product: Lab/Pilot Plant
SuperMill 1.5
Attributes/comments: Premier
Lab/Pilot Plant Supermills are unique
because they offer all the advantages
of larger production units but are compact and rugged enough for pilot plant
testing. These pilot plant mills are
specifically designed for small product
runs that require continuous dispersing and particle size reduction.
New product: PSM- 7 Laboratory
Submersible Basket Mill
Attributes/comments: An extremely versatile dispersion system, perfect for small specialty batch production. Offering the highest degree of
efficiency and dependability, the
PSM- 7 is specifically engineered to
allow mixing and grinding or fine
dispersion simultaneously in a single
tank.

solid-liquid-injection-manifold)
Attributes/comments: SLIMis a
high speed/high shear mixer
designed to inject and displace solids
(difficult to wet) continuously. SLIM
systems are available in inline or
batch designs.
New Product: Model LC-W
Attributes/comments: Ross has
introduced a new model of its line of
laboratory high shear mixers. The
new model is designed for vacuum
operation. Variable speed, as well as
cycle times are built in to the mixer.

New Product: Product name:
Taber Rotary Platform Abraser
Model 5135/5155
Attributes/comments: This wear
tester now includes an updated operator interface which provides simple,
on-screen instructions to assist with
changing test parameters or selecting four common preset cycles. An
expanding collet hub with push-button operation makes quick abrasive
wheel mounting possible and provides increased clearance for a larger
viewing area of the test specimen.
Product name: Taber Linear
Abraser 5750 – Scratch Tips
Attributes/comments: Taber has
expanded the number of scratch tips it
offers for the Taber Linear Abraser.
For hard materials, a conical diamond
tool or tungsten carbide scratch tips
are offered. For resilient materials, a
1.0mm diameter hemisphere scratch
tip is suggested. Other stylus include
a loop, needle, Hoffman type, coin or a
kit to perform the common pencil
hardness test.

New Product: DMQ- 10
Attributes/comments: The DMQ-
10 combines the best features of a
traditional horizontal small media
mill with the added benefits of circulation grinding. The result is a versatile mill capable of providing a cost-effective, size reduction solution for
grinding large quantities of material.
Although the DMQ Series is able to
operate in either circulation or continuous mode, using the mill for circulation grinding offers some unique
benefits including a narrower particle size distribution, the ability to
continuously monitor the slurry, and
the ability to sample or add ingredients to the premix tank at any time.
Also, temperature can be controlled
more precisely since the slurry
spends only a short period of time in
the grinding chamber. The circulation grinding process involves the
use of a large process/holding tank in
addition to the DMQ Mill. The mill
features a large, heavy-duty media
separator located at the end of the
mill for easy servicing. Indexed discs
provide uniform media distribution.
Adjustable product discharge openings maximize throughput and
accommodate grinding media from
2mm to as small as .3mm. Finally, a
rail system makes maintenance
and/or tank removal easy. CW
