PPG industrial coatings promotes two
PPG Industries’ industrial coatings
business has promoted Howard
Wright to general
manager, global
coil and extrusion
products and John
Shaffer to business
director, COEX
Americas.
Wright will man- Howard Wright
age the company’
global COEX business, including
integration of the
recently acquired
SigmaKalon coil
coatings business.
He will also pursue growth opportunities in the
Asia-Pacific region John Shaffer
and further develop recent market gains in the
Americas. Wright joined PPG in 1994
when the company acquired a portion
of Nalco Chemical, where he worked
in a succession of sales and marketing
roles He has progressed through sales,
product management and business
development positions within PPG’s
automotive coatings, automotive glass
and industrial coatings groups, serving most recently as business director,
coil and extrusion coatings.
Shaffer will develop and execute
marketing and growth strategies
throughout North, South and
Central America, including managing all commercial and operational
activities and directing the business’s product and technology portfolios. Shaffer joined PPG in 1991 and
has been promoted through sales,
product management and marketing
positions, including his most recent
role as zone manager for PPG’s
industrial coatings business.

EXPANDS INTO ASIA/PACIFIC REGION
Chemark Consulting Group has
expanded its services into the
Asia/Pacific region through the addition of Garrett Shawhan as its global
strategy development and execution
specialist. Shawhan has more than
30 years experience in the fields of
specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives inks, metal finishing, lubricants and electronic materials. His
international marketing experience
includes extensive travel throughout
Asia and Europe.
DOW CORNING NAMES
KEMPF ACCOUNT MANAGER
Dow Corning has named Jennifer
Kempf construction OEMaccount
manager. In her new position, Kempf
will serve as the account representa-
tive for all day-to-day selling activi-
ties and account management issues
pertaining to silicone sealants used
by window, door and insulating glass
manufacturers.
TRONOX MAKES
ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
Robert Gibney, who is currently vice
president of corporate affairs, Tronox
Inc., is assuming responsibility for
human resources as he continues to
lead the company’s investor relations
and communications efforts. This
organizational change is part of
Tronox’s efforts to consolidate offi-
cers’ responsibilities. As a result,
Mark Meadors, who previously
served as vice president of human
resources, has left the company to
pursue other interests.
BROOKFIELD ENGINEERING
APPOINTS TWO SALES ENGINEERS
Brookfield Engineering Laboratories
has appointed Vincent Herbert sen-
ior sales engineer. Herbert has more
than 25 years experience in product
testing, marketing, technical support
and sales. In addition, Herbert will
manage Brookfield’s in-house and
regional educational programs.
Brookfield has also appointed Eric
Chiang senior sales engineer. Chiang
will provide Brookfield customers
with sales associates and technical
support for both the domestic and
international markets. He also
serves on the Brookfield training
team, teaching the Practical Course
on Viscosity Measurements and the
Applied Course on Viscosity Test
Methods.
BLACKMER APPOINTS DISTRICT
MANAGER FOR SOUTH ASIA
Blackmer has appointed Hiro S.
Chandwani district manager, South
Asia region including India,
Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal,
Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Chandwani’s responsibilities will
include growing and maintaining
positive distributor relationships
and territory sales management.
KAMAN INDUSTRIAL NAMES
VP, REGIONAL MANAGER
Kaman Industrial Technologies has
promoted Thomas Weihsmann to vice
president, regional manager. In his
new position, he will assume full
management responsibility over
Kaman’s Southeast region.
