refinish business, DuPont has introduced Permacron MS Express Clear
Coat 8046. The new product is a robust
and versatile clear coat specifically
designed to operate under a variety of
working conditions. It delivers excellent
performance results over a wide range of
climate and application conditions.

clear coat with an excellent appearance
that is easy to apply.
R-M’S PROFILLER PRIMER
NOW AVAILABLE IN BLACK
BASF’s automotive refinish brand, R-M,
has expanded its greyshade primer portfolio to include Profiller Black, a VOC
compliant two component polyurethane
primer. Profiller Black can be used in
conjunction with Profiller Grey to
achieve a range of greyshades. Two hardener options are available—D70 fast
hardener, which is suited for low temperature application or rapid spot
repairs, and D80, the normal hardener
for high temperatures or application
over large areas. Profiller Black can be
low baked in 30 minutes at 60°C, or for
really fast throughput, it can be dried in
as little as eight minutes, using short
wave infrared and top coated with
Diamont, Uno HD or Onyx HD.
PPG LAUNCHES AQUACRON FOR
LIGHT INDUSTRIAL COATINGS
PPG Commercial Coatings has
launched the Aquacron water-based
product platform for light industrial
applications. This environmentally
friendly product line includes a strong
mix of primer and topcoat technologies
designed to fit the highly varied light-
industrial customer’s needs. Aquacron
coatings are ideal for use on trailers,
doors, agricultural and construction
components, airline handling equip-
ment, electrical transmission equip-
ment, and similar spray-and-ship
applications. The low-VOC water-
based products can be used by manu-
facturers under multiple application
conditions.

LAUNCHES EURONAVY ES301
Sherwin-Williams has introduced Euronavy ES301, a solvent-free anticorrosive
epoxy designed for application over marginally prepared surfaces. Sherwin-Williams acquired Euronavy in
December 2008. The product can be
applied with no dew point restrictions
over damp steel surfaces and over flash-rust, reducing application time and
costs. Coating can occur immediately
after hydroblasting or other water
preparation methods without drying.
INTERLUX INTRODUCES
NEW VARNISH PRODUCTS
International Paint has introduced three
new products into its Interlux varnish
and wood treatment range for boats—
Perfection Plus, Schooner Gold and
Compass. Perfection Plus is a clear, two-part polyurethane with prolonged chemical and abrasion resistance and UV protection. Schooner Gold also enters the
market and with its UV package and
gloss properties, it is the longest-lasting
one-part varnish Interlux has ever introduced, the company said. Lastly,
Compass complements the traditional
qualities of Schooner Gold with a new,
fast-drying durable one-part polyurethane varnish.
SURFACER, COLOR SYSTEM ADDED
TO SHER-WOOD KEM AQUA PLUS LINE
Sherwin-Williams has added a
Surfacer and Color System to its Sher-wood Kem Aqua Plus offerings, which
initially included only a Clear variety.
