DAP HONORED AS GOLD STANDARD IN HOME IMPROVEMENT INDUSTRY For the fifth consecutive year, DAP Products Inc. was awarded the Golden Hammer Retailer Award as the premier supplier in the caulking and sealants category. Home Channel News presented John McLaughlin, president and CEO of DAP Products Inc., with the honor at the 26th Golden Hammer Retailer Awards in Las Vegas, NV, during the 2010 National Hardware Show. Based fully on peer recognition, buyers and merchandise managers of America’s top 500 retailers voted DAP as one of only 32 suppliers that demonstrate best of field excellence, specifically in the Lumber Building Materials and Durables category. The criteria for selection included category management, inventory management, new product innovation, quality control and serving professionals.

HEMPEL OPENS NEW FACTORY IN POLAND Hempel has opened a new manufacturing facility in Buk, Poland. Able to produce the company’s full range of coatings for the Central and Northern European market, the factory has a total capacity of 40 million liters a year and can be expanded to supply 60 million liters a year if needed. The € 25 million project was completed in nine months. The factory was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Innovative Economy Operational Programme. As part of the deal, Hempel will create at least 100 new jobs.
