Joins SSPC Board of Governors
Brian Skerry, global technical director,
Protective and Marine Coatings, Sherwin
Williams has been elected to a 4-year term
on the Board of Governors of the SSPC:
The Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC).
The SSPC is a nonprofit, member-based
trade organization
that issues industry
standards and provides resources, certifications and training
for protective coatings professionals.
Skerry brings to
his board position
nearly three decades
of experience in cor-
rosion and coatings. He joined The Sherwin-Williams Company in 1984, and
since then, has held a series of research
and technical management positions with
increasing levels of responsibility. He currently oversees global new product development, commercialization and
technology innovation programs.
Skerry has published 41 technical papers and received two Sherwin-Williams
awards and six coatings industry technical publication awards as well as the National Association of Corrosion
Engineers’ A.B. Campbell award. He has
made more than 50 technical presentations in the U.S., Europe, South America
and Australasia. In addition, he has published 38 scientific papers in publications
that include Journal of Coatings Technology, Journal of Protective Coatings &
Linings, and Progress in Organic Coatings, among others.

Ecology Coatings appoints two
board members, elects Juliano
chairman
Ecology Coatings, Inc. has elected Jim Juliano as its chairman. Juliano joined the
Ecology Coatings Board in 2010. The
company also announced the appointment of Nick DeMiro and John Salpietra
to its Board of Directors. DeMiro is the
president of Mayco International LLC, a
privately held global leader in automotive
design, engineering, tooling and manufacturing of plastic systems and modules for
the automotive industry.
Salpietra is the co-founder of Val-Tec
Plastics, a manufacturer of plastic injection molds and, since 2005, is the majority owner and managing partner of Moose
Ridge Golf Course in South Lyon, MI.
DKSH appoints new head for
chemical distribution business
in Japan
DKSH’s Business Unit Performance Materials, a leading distributor of specialty
chemicals and food ingredients, has appointed Haruo Namba as head of its
chemical distribution business in Japan.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in the specialty chemicals industry.
Archway Sales add to its
customer service team
Specialty chemical distributor, Archway
Sales has added Roe Riley to its customer
service team based out of New York. Riley
will be covering the Northeast region of
the U.S. David Henke has also joined
Archway Sales, Inc. as a credit manager.
He has more than 20 years of experience
in the credit/collections area.
RPM promotes seven within
legal, finance and IT
departments
RPM International Inc. announced that
Edward Moore, vice president and general
counsel, was appointed to also serve as the
company’s chief
compliance officer,
and Tracy Crandall,
associate general
counsel, will take on
the additional title
and responsibilities
of assistant secretary.
In his new role,
Moore will report to
RPM’s board of directors and be responsible for corporate compliance oversight.
He will coordinate with human resources
on various risk management activities and
with operations on health, safety and environmental initiatives.
Crandall’s promotion comes in recognition of the expanded role she has played
in providing legal management, counsel
and coordination within the corporate office and at the operational level.
The company also
promoted Melissa
Schoger to director of
planning and financial analysis; Chris
Knoblock to director
of systems development; Rob Antonelli
to manager, consolidation systems;
Treena Johnson to manager, general accounting and analysis; and Ben Curtis to
senior internal auditor.

Dur-A-Flex names Patrick
Meade VP sales and
technical support
Dur-A-Flex, Inc. has named Patrick
Meade vice president, sales and technical
support. Meade is the former director of
sales for Lutron, Inc. and director, business development group for Stonhard, Inc.
In addition to the sales and architectural
consulting channels, Meade is responsible
for technical service and strategic accounts at Dur-A-Flex.
JNS Smithchem names John
Sari regional sales manager
JNS Smithchem LLC, has appointed John
Sari to the position of regional sales manager. Sari will be responsible for growing
the company’s customer and supplier base
in Southern New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Delaware, Maryland and Virginia with emphasis on expanding sales in building products, coatings, inks, plastics, rubber and
