Krüger joins Orion Engineered Carbons
Orion Engineered Carbons has hired Jörg
Krüger as senior vice president of global operations. He will lead the manufacturing,
process technology, engineering, supply
chain, energy management, procurement,
environmental, safety, health and quality
functions for Orion worldwide. He will be
based at Orion’s global headquarters in
Frankfurt, Germany. Krüger has previously
served as general manager of global operations at Momentive Performance Materials
Inc., a subsidiary of Momentive Performance Materials Holdings Inc., since May
2007. From 2002, Krüger was managing
director and chief operating officer of GE
Bayer Silicones, which formed part of Momentive in 2006. Prior to that role, he
served in a variety of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing roles at Bayer
Corporation in the U.S. and Bayer AG in
Germany. He began his career at Bayer AG
as a project engineer.
Koda names new president
and CEO
Koda Distribution Group has appointed
Frank Bergonzi president and chief executive officer. Robert
Spadoni, Koda’s current chief executive
officer, will continue
as a board member
and maintain an active role in directing
Koda’s strategy.
Bergonzi has 29 years
of experience in the
chemicals industry.
He was recently the director of corporate
distribution at BASF. Prior to BASF he held
numerous key management positions with
Fortune 100 Companies, including Dow
Chemical, Witco Corporation, OSi Specialties and Union Carbide. Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, Koda is a
distributor of specialty chemicals for
paints and coatings, personal care, dyes,
lubricants, construction, sealants and adhesives applications.

ACA names Frank Sullivan and
Sandra Berg as new board
members
The American Coatings Association
(ACA) has elected two new officers to its
board of directors. Frank Sullivan, chairman and CEO of RPM International Inc.
will serve as chairman and Sandra Berg,
president and CEO of Ellis Paint will serve
as vice chairman and treasurer. Both Sullivan and Berg will serve two-year terms
on ACA’s board, ending in April 2014.
Chromaflo Technologies
appoints coatings product
development specialist
Chromaflo Technologies, an independent
global supplier of advanced colorants and
chemical dispersions for the paint, coatings and thermoset plastics industry, has
appointed Steve Shaklee as product development specialist, reporting to Selby Bran-non, technology director, Americas.
Shaklee brings with him over 20 years of
experience as a product manager and
chemist in the coatings industry. In his
new role, he will be responsible for all aspects of coating product development including, raw material selection, dispersion
development, product processing, quality
testing, and customer approval. Chromaflo Technologies is the combination of
the former Plasticolors Inc. and the Colortrend global colorants business.
Matt Docherty joins Hero
Products Group
Hero Products Group, a division of I.C. T.C.
Holdings Corporation has appointed Matt
Docherty as vice president of sales, North
America. Docherty provides Hero with
over 25 years of industry sales management
experience. His efforts will be focused on
generating new sales within Hero’s existing
customer base as well as establishing new
customer relationships. Hero is a POS
equipment provider to the decorative paint
and coatings industry globally. Established
in 1969, Hero has its headquarters located
in Vancouver, Canada and is a global supplier of POS colorant dispensing and mixing equipment, including in-plant and
in-can custom tinting systems. It has offices
and manufacturing facilities located in
Turin, Italy; Mumbai, India; Sao Paulo,
Brazil; and Guangzhou, China.
Resinate adds Daniel Seyer to
lead research and development
program
Resinate Materials Group, Inc., a provider
of custom resins and technology for the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers industries, has added Daniel Seyer to its
management team. Seyer will serve as vice
president and director of research and development. He will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s development
pipeline as well investigating new product
applications for their custom resin technology. Most recently, Seyer worked for Lintec
of America where he was responsible for investigating new technologies for commercial
development. Prior to Lintec, Seyer spent 10
years at a leading investigational laboratory
where he served as technical director and
was responsible for troubleshooting product
failures for new and existing products for a
wide variety of industries. Seyer received his
Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Dallas
in the field of nanotechnology. CW
