The new LEED silver-certified build-
ing will feature four galleries illustrat-

ing, scheduled to open in 2015, also will
host specialty tours, demonstrations and
hands-on educational programs for visi-
tors of all ages.

AkzoNobel Coil Coatings
Announces Price Increase
AkzoNobel has announced a price increase on all coil coatings products for
North America, effective September
1, 2013. Over the past two years,
AkzoNobel has worked to off-set the
impact of raw material increases through
improvements in operational efficiencies,
optimization of manufacturing locations,
and supplier negotiations.
However, ongoing raw material,
freight and other business cost increases
continue to outpace efforts to control
costs. Therefore, effective with shipments beginning on September 1, 2013,
AkzoNobel will be implementing a four
percent price increase on all coil coatings products.

Dentressangle to provide warehousing
and distribution to support its expansion
in the UK market, in partnership with a
major DIY retailer.
With more than $4 billion in sales and

Valspar Corporation is a global leader in
the paint and coatings industry. As part
of the continued expansion of its global
consumer paint business, the company
recently entered into a strategic partnership with a major UK DIY retailer, which
will see the retailer offer a full selection
of premium Valspar paints in every store.
Norbert Dentressangle will be responsible for the warehousing and picking
of orders and delivery into the retailer’s
regional distribution network, where orders are cross-docked and consolidated
with other products for final delivery to
store. When completed, the operation
will be serving over 350 stores.

15th Annual World Excellence Awards
(WEA) and BASF Argentina Coatings
was honored with a Gold award which is
awarded to the top five percent of qualifying suppliers who demonstrate superior
quality, delivery and cost performance.

PPG Earns 2012 AAA Green
Partner Award from FAW-
Volkswagen
PPG Industries’ automotive OEM coatings business in China recently earned
the 2012 AAA Green Partner award from
FAW-Volkswagen (FVW). Zhang Peijie,
general manager of FVW, presented the
trophy to Yang Weihua, PPG general
manager for automotive OEM coatings,
China, during the FVW Environmental
Protection Awards Ceremony 2013.
PPG supplies FVW with “green” products such as waterborne coatings, which
significantly reduce VOC emissions. In
last year’s environmental assessment of
FVW suppliers, PPG was rated “A” and
awarded “A-class Supplier” status by
FVW. PPG is also actively cooperating
with FVW to develop new colors for waterborne coatings.
