Rust-Oleum Industrial Brands has launched several new products to increase the beauty and performance of pools and fountains.

The first product is the Rust-Oleum
High Performance Clean and Prep
Solution. This easy to use solution quick-
ly removes grime and mineral deposits
to create a surface that allows for maxi-
mum adhesion of Rust-Oleum Epoxy or
Acrylic Pool and Fountain Paints. The
quality touch-up characteristics. The sys-
tem also minimizes color variance when
using solid wood and veneer on the same
part. Sher-Wood WB-W is a water-based
wiping stain that provides excellent clar-
ity and a uniform appearance with mini-
mal to no grain raise. Water clean-up for
this low-odor stain is fast and easy.

Clean and Prep Solution is VOC compliant nationwide, odor-free, biodegradable and safe for use around plants and grass.

Rust-Oleum High Performance Epoxy Pool and Fountain Paints are the most durable and versatile pool and fountain paints available, according to the company. The two-part epoxy kit can go up to eight years between recoats and can be used on concrete, plaster, fiberglass and steel. The excellent stain, chemical and abrasion resistance makes this coating an ideal solution for the most extreme environments. The product is available in black, white and marlin blue.

When you need fast dry times and low odor, the Rust-Oleum High Performance Acrylic Pool and Fountain Paint is the best solution. This acrylic paint applies to damp surfaces and is safe for use on previously painted, chlorinated and synthetic rubber surfaces. Available colors are black, white, marlin blue and aqua.

PPG Introduces Ditzler Hot
Rod Black Topcoat

PPG Industries’ automotive refinish business has added Ditzler Hot Rod Black topcoat to the popular Vibrance Collection product line. The new PPG topcoat provides a uniform, low gloss and deep-looking black finish designed to replicate the glory days of street rods and muscle cars, according to the company.

Although Ditzler Hot Rod Black topcoat was inspired by the iconic rides of yesteryear, this classic black with its smooth satin finish is the ideal complement to late-model builds as well.

It is available in a convenient package—the HRB9700 Hot Rod Black kit that includes a quart of Hot Rod Black and a half pint of hardener. And it can be reduced with any PPG urethane reducer in a 4:1:1 mix ratio for spraying. This new topcoat is also VOC-compliant for all regions based on reducer selection. In addition, it can be air- or force-dried.

Sher-Wood WB-S and Sher-
Wood

Sherwin-Williams introduced Sher-Wood WB-S spray stain and Sher-Wood WB-W wiping stain through its Product Finishes Division. Both stains are formulated with raw materials that are reported to contain no VOCs, and have theoretical emitted (calculated) VOCs of 0.0 lb/gal and 0.02 lb/gal respectively, according to the company.

The new stain solutions provide attractive alternatives for wood finishers in markets such as kitchen cabinets, furniture and wood building products who must meet strict VOC requirements or who wish to reduce VOCs in their wood finishing operations with no loss of product performance. Both stains are available in a wide variety of colors and work well with most topcoats.
