PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has introduced Duranar GR ( graffiti-resistant) and Coraflon GR coatings. Duranar GR and Coraflon GR coatings feature a clear, graffiti-resistant barrier over the pigmented color layer of the coating. If the coating is spray-painted or otherwise marred, it can be cleaned by applying Duraprep Prep 400 graffiti remover by PPG. After the solution has been allowed to dwell on the stain for 10 to 60 seconds, it can be wiped with a clean cloth or scrubbed with a nylon brush. Most stains can be removed in 10 minutes or less. When applied on either Duranar GR or Coraflon GR clear coatings, Duraprep Prep 400 field-applied graffiti remover eradicates graffiti as well as paint overspray, pen and marker ink, lipstick, scuff marks, tape residue, bugs, tar and many other substances that mar the appearance of commercial buildings. It is believed to be the only graffiti-resistant coating system sold and tested by the same company, according to PPG.

TuffWall is easy to apply, and it stays where it is sprayed, clinging to the wall until it is knocked down to the desired texture, according to the firm. Beyond the popular knockdown texture, numerous finishes such as splatter or orange peel textures can also be achieved. TuffWall stands out from the competition as it can be applied by airless spray to provide a smooth basecoat, taking a level four dry-wall finish to a level five base coat. It can be tinted to hundreds of custom colors.

Tikkurila’s Temadur Paints
Shorten Lead Times in
Production

Tikkurila Oyj’s range of industrial coatings has been extended with new fast-drying single-coat polyurethane paints. The Temadur SC-F series have shorter drying times than the previous Temadur SC series.

The new Temadur paints contain anti-corrosive pigments and are ideal for use as single-coat paints, according to the company. The recommended dry film thickness of 120µm with one coat will provide excellent weather and abrasion resistance. The Temadur SC-F series of paints are recommended for steel surfaces blast cleaned to preparation grade Sa2½, or for surfaces primed with Temadur 20, Temacoat GPL-S Primer or Temanyl PVB from Tikkurila.

The new Temadur SC-F series of paints are available in three gloss grades: semimatt, semi-gloss and glossy. They can be tintedto the shades of the RAL, NCS, SSG, BS, Monicolor Nova and Symphony color cards by using Tikkurila’s advanced Temaspeed Premium tinting system.

Endurance Range Thermal
Barrier Exhaust Coatings
for Motorbikes

Zircotec has launched Endurance Range
coatings, specifically designed to pro-
vide a durable surface finish for motor-
bike exhaust systems. Derived from the
Performance Range, the new coatings
are applied using a proprietary plasma-
sprayed process to deliver an extremely
well-adhered and hard wearing finish,
which significantly outlasts aftermarket
paints, according to the firm. The com-
pany reports that the coating is smoother
to the touch than the standard range,
and therefore easier to keep clean, and is
aesthetically pleasing yet also contains an
element of thermal protection to reduce
heat soak and thermal damage.

The entire Endurance Range has passed Zircotec’s laboratory test program, including lifetime testing up to a simulated 100,000 miles use. guarantee. The Endurance Range is currently available in three different finishes - Endurance Black, (matt black finish) Endurance Metallic Black (incorporates a metallic fleck and Endurance Graphite (matt grey finish).

Cromax Introduces WB-
9908 Super Jet Black in its
Range of Pro Basecoat Fac
Pac Colors

Cromax has further extended its range of Cromax Pro Basecoat factory packed (Fac Pac) colors with the introduction of WB-9908 Super Jet Black. This solid, very deep black tint has been specifically formulated to repair colors like the Toyota Lexus 202 color Black/Black Onyx.

According to the company, deep dark solid black – and various tonal varieties of of the color – is becoming increasingly popular. The new Cromax Pro Basecoat Fac Pac WB-9908 answers the demand for the deepest darkest solid version of the color. The less intense variations of that black can easily be achieved with the addition of WB05 Cromax Pro Jet Black and WB06 Cromax Pro Black HS.

The new waterborne basecoat color is available in packs of six, one liter tins from Cromax on request.
