Henkel’s new Loctite adhesive line
H3151 Speedbonder structural adhesive
offers 35 to 40 minutes of open time for
part adjustment, and provides bond
strength on aluminum and steel. Loctite
H4500 Speedbonder structural adhesive
is a fast setting, high strength adhesive
with a short open time of just ten minutes for general metal bonding.
Two-part Loctite Speedbonder structural adhesives bond aluminum, steel and
galvanized metals to a variety of substrates including plastics and composites,
reducing the need for mechanical fasteners.
Henkel Corporation has introduced a
new line of seven structural acrylic adhesives that deliver tough, durable bonds
to a variety of metals.
Loctite H4720 Speedbonder structural adhesive provides environmental resistance on a range of metals.
Loctite H8000 Speedbonder structural
adhesive fixtures in just ten to 15 minutes and provides impact and peel
strength on aluminum surfaces. For
high strength steel bonding, Loctite
H8500 Speedbonder structural adhesive offers a short open time, while
Loctite H8510 Speedbonder structural
adhesive offers an extended open time
for parts alignment. Lastly, Loctite
H8600 Speedbonder structural adhesive is specifically formulated for long-term bond strength on galvanized
steel, and offers robust bonds to many
other metals exposed to environmental extremes.
In addition, two general purpose adhesive formulations are available. Loctite
VPCI-373 WASH PRIMER
Cortec Laboratories has introduced
VpCI-373, a low-VOC water-based
wash primer, designed to promote
adhesion on aluminum, stainless and
galvanized metals and to eliminate
previously required hexavalent chromate or acidic washes.
Originally developed to meet the
stringent requirements of RoHS regulations in Europe and the requirements
of aircraft manufacturers, VpCI-373
offers an alternative to chromate or
acid washes, while increasing performance, durability and corrosion resistance of metals, according to the company. VpCI-373 does not contain hexavalent chromium, is available in clear or
green-tint and requires less than half
the thickness of other coatings.
Incorporating the company’s proprietary Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors
(VpCI) chemistry, VpCI-373 eliminates
blistering, creepage and adhesion problems. It is suitable for stand-alone pro-
VpCI-373 Wash Primer protects aluminum
against corrosion, eliminating the need
for harsh chemical treatment. It dries
clear and promotes adhesion.
