TRONOX NAMES BIRNEY TO BOARD,
WACHNOWSKY VP PIGMENTS
David G. Birney has been elected to
the Tronox Inc. board of directors.
Birney has 40 years experience in
the chemical industry. He recently
retired from his position as president
and CEO of Solvay America, Inc.
Tronox has also named Stephen
Wachnowsky vice president of global
pigment operations, responsible for
the company’s titanium dioxide pigment operations. In his new position,
Wachnowsky will be responsible for
Tronox’s global pigment facilities,
which include plants in the U.S.,
Europe and Australia.
BÜHLER ANNOUNCES
CHANGE IN GROUP MANAGEMENT
Erwin A. Frei has been appointed to
the group management of Bühler AG.
He has been placed in charge of the
engineered products division and is
the successor to Ulrich Baur, who will
retire.
NETZSCH PROMOTES
HILL TO SALES MANAGER
Netzsch Fine Particle Technology, LLC
has promoted John M. Hill to sales
manager, mid-Atlantic regions. He will
manage all aspects of Netzsch customer relationships in Pennsylvania,
New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware,
West Virginia and southern New York.
Prior to his promotion, Hill was laboratory manager for Netzsch’s grinding
and dispersion group.
REICHHOLD NAMES LEYDON

Reichhold, Inc. appointed Edward R.
Leydon to the position of general
counsel. In this position, Leydon will
serve as Reichhold’s chief legal officer,
strategically planning and directing
all aspects of the organization’s legal
affairs on a global basis.
VANDERSTAPPEN NAMED SENIOR
ACCOUNT MANAGER AT MICHELMAN
Michelman has hired Luc
Vanderstappen as senior account
manager. In his new position,
Vanderstappen will be responsible for
handling all accounts in Benelux and
Scandinavia as well as select custom
formulating accounts. His focus will
be on maintaining and growing business with existing customers exploring new applications, developing new
customers and supporting and motivating distributors.
ROSS PROMOTES LANGHORN
TO TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Charles Ross and Son Co. has promoted Ken Langhorn to technical director.
Langhorn joined the company in 1998
and has worked in several technical
and product management positions.
He is now responsible for the daily
operations of the company’s Test and
Development Center as well as the
ongoing development of new products
and technology.

Horn Company as senior account
manager within the coatings and

materials groups. In this new position, Blackford will expand the

appointed William D. Horsfall to the
company’s board of directors. The
appointment of Horsfall increases

PLASTICOLORS MAKES
SEVERAL NEW APPOINTMENTS
Plasticolors, Inc. recently hired two
new employees and promoted another. Dave Dennison was appointed as
the company’s first safety manager,
Karen Eglinton was named regulatory affairs specialist and Wendy
Games was promoted to quality systems specialist.
As safety manager, Dennison will
be responsible for the effective
administration of Plasticolors’ safety
programs including lockout/tagout,
respiratory protection and process
safety management.
As regulatory affairs specialist,
Eglinton will be primarily responsible
for maintaining air permits, hazardous
waste management, product and raw
material regulatory impact reviews and
chemical hazard communication.
Games was promoted to the position of quality systems specialist.
She has been employed at
Plasticolors for eights years, and previously served as a quality control
technician.
