Florida Paints Acquires
Scott Paint
Florida Paints has announced that it has
acquired Scott Paint Company from a
Maryland company, returning the Sarasota-based brand to Florida ownership.
The acquisition adds an 85,000
square foot manufacturing facility in
Sarasota and 17 stores in Florida’s Gulf
Coast region, complementing Florida
Paints’ existing network of 12 stores
in North and Central Florida and its
Orlando based paint plant Terms of the
deal were not disclosed.
Don Strube, Jr., co-founder of Florida
Paints said: “Scott Paint is a perfect fit for
Florida Paints.
“The company started in 1965, and
shares our passion for Florida-tough
paint designed specifically for our re-
gion’s hot sun, high humidity, and wind-
driven rain.”
Florida Paints plans to continue to
make and market Scott Paint as it’s own
brand under the Florida Paints umbrel-
la. Both brands will be offered at all 29
stores, along with other specialty brands
that Florida Paints currently offers.
Sika Automotive
Commissions New Mixing
Equipment, Packaging Lines
at Grandview, MO Facility
Sika Automotive has commissioned
mixing equipment and associated bulk
packaging functions at its Grandview,
Missouri manufacturing facility. The expanded capability allows for local manufacturing of industry-leading SikaPower
adhesive products used in automotive
vehicle assembly processes.
The breadth of the SikaPower product
portfolio includes crash durable, structural and e-coatable adhesives for body-in-white applications – particularly those
with difficult to bond mixed-material applications, such as dissimilar metals or
metal to composite.
Sika also supplies products for antiflut-
ter applications, and to the aftermarket
vehicle repair segment.
