can be achieved in two coats plus one ef-
fect coat. What sets Syrox apart, in addi-
tion to its complete and compact system,
Syrox is manufactured in Europe,
and will be launched in selected VOC-
compliant markets in that region, as well
as in Australia, New Zealand, China and

PPG Introduces
AQUACRON 200 Series
Coating
PPG has introduced AQUACRON 200
Series coating, a waterborne acrylic urethane for exterior building products
that offers robust protection for wood,
fiber glass, plastic, vinyl and composite
substrates. The coating also can be formulated with heat-reflective pigments to
enhance the durability and appearance of
heat-sensitive substrates such as vinyl and
polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
Brian Smith, PPG light industrial coat-
ings coordinator, said that Aquacron 200
Series coating is unique because it ad-
heres strongly to a variety of substrates
commonly used in the building products
market. “Aquacron 200 Series coating
will help manufacturers achieve better
adhesion – whether they use wood, fiber
glass or PVC composites – to improve the
appearance and extend the service lives
of their products,” he explained. “The
ability to add solar reflectivity adds even
higher levels of durability and environ-
mental performance.”
In addition to offering exceptional
adhesion on multiple substrates and
excellent exterior durability, Aquacron
200 Series coating features strong
chemical resistance, accelerated cure
time and fast block resistance. Custom
colors are available to facilitate color-
matching, and Aquacron 200 Series
coating meets American Architectural
Manufacturers Association (AAMA)
specifications for prefinished alumi-
num, vinyl and fiber glass, and Window
and Door Manufacturers Association
(WDMA) specifications for primed and
prefinished wood.

200 Series coating are patio and entry
doors, molding and trim, windows, siding and other exterior building products
made from plastic, fiber glass, primed-wood and vinyl components.
BASF Introduces
MasterSeal SL 100 Self-Leveling Sealant for Damp
and Green Concrete
Applications
BASF recently launched MasterSeal SL
100 in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The
new sealant is designed to help expedite
construction project schedules and keep
horizontal joints weathertight, even in the
most demanding conditions.
MasterSeal SL 100 is the newest of-
fering in the line in the MasterSeal line of
sealants and waterproofing products, and
part of BASF’s Master Builders Solutions
brand. Its hybrid technology permits appli-
cation to freshly placed (green) concrete as
soon as 24 hours after forms are removed,
compared with the 21 days recommended
for most sealants. Earlier access to jobsites
allows contractors to save on labor costs.
The sealant can also be placed on damp
concrete, helping minimize the impact of
rain on project schedules.
With tenacious adhesion to multiple
substrates such as concrete, metal and stone,
MasterSeal SL 100 can help simplify the
sealant selection process. Recommended
uses include plaza decks, parking struc-
tures, balconies, industrial floors, driveways
and garages, sidewalks, and numerous oth-
er horizontal joint applications.
MasterSeal SL 100 has an unprecedent-
ed skin time of 5-45 minutes, depending
