NEWS FROM THE CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW CIRCUIT roadtrip
get what you need
We all know that you can’t always get what you want. But how do you make sure that
you get what you need? More to the point, perhaps, given today’s tumultuous business
environment, how do you determine precisely what it is that you need?
To help answer these questions, Boston-based analyst firm Aberdeen Group will
bring together a host of leading executives to discuss the most pressing needs of today’s
supply chain professionals at its annual Supply Chain Management Summit on April
2–3 in San Francisco. Speakers will include executives from Intel, Cisco Systems, Sara
Lee, and Cardinal Health as well as retired U.S. Army Gen. (and supply chain expert)
Gus Pagonis. They will address topics like the need to align supply chain strategies with
the business’s overall goals and objectives, the need to use innovation to drive down
costs, the need to align the physical and the financial supply chains, and the need to
create sustainable and environmentally responsible operations.
The conference was designed for senior supply chain, procurement, manufacturing,
technology, and finance executives, and the analyst firm expects to draw attendees
from around the globe. For more information or to register for the conference, visit

At its 54th Annual Convention, the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association

The conference will help material handling equipment distributors think about how they can
provide customers not just with material handling products, but with solutions to problems in their
distribution centers and plants. Presentations and workshops will address topics like customer
service, understanding economic trends, and solution selling.
Scheduled for May 2–6 in Palm Desert, Calif., the event will include an Exhibitors’ Showcase,
where more than 90 material handling equipment manufacturers and consultants will display
their wares. Various industry leaders will host networking roundtable sessions in which attendees
can sit down with their peers to discuss challenges and potential solutions.
