Can it: Navman Wireless North America, a
provider of vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, has added canned message
functionality to its next-generation vehicle tracking and logistics software, OnlineAVL2. By
allowing fleet managers to create a library of
comprehensive standard messages that make
sense for their businesses, canned messages
eliminate the need for full keyboard typing, and
provide team members with a quick and easy
means to deliver efficient and clear messages
with only a few key selections.
The new feature is an enhancement to
Navman Wireless’s real-time vehicle position,
integrated maintenance modules, and
advanced software for state mileage reporting,
automated e-mail reporting, and monitoring
alerts. Alleviating time-consuming message
preparation that can be difficult for personnel
to manage while on the road or during service,
the canned messaging functionality can help to
improve safety and increase efficiency.
Navman Wireless’s fleet manager-selected
canned messages provide a seamless response
template for accurate disclosure. The
OnlineAVL2 canned message component
allows managers to create a collection of up to
100 custom messages that are relevant to their
fleet or business. Messages are wirelessly programmed onto the M-Nav integrated messaging
and navigation device, and Mobile Data Terminal
(MDT) for drivers to use. Canned messages also
provide time-stamped documentation that managers can later access in reports by driver or
fleet. (Navman Wireless North America, (866)

Giving them the slip:
Premier Print and Services
Group Inc. unveils its duplexpackslip, a combination two-sided thermal roll or fan-fold-ed label designed so that the
shipping label can be printed
on the front side at the same
time that a confidential packing slip is printed on the back. The duplexpackslip
offers time and labor savings, while eliminating
the traditional “packing list enclosed” plastic
pouch and paper. The application of the duplexpackslip requires only about a third of the time
required by a traditional label and packing list
pouch, according to the company.
Other benefits of the new duplexpackslip
include increased accuracy and reduced paper
consumption, which lowers the total overall
cost of the system. The duplexpackslip will
accommodate 17 lines of packing slip information. (Premier Print and Services Group Inc.,
