ProStack pallet: Polymer
Solutions International
Inc. says its new ProStack
One-Piece Hygienic Pallet is
suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and medical applications.
The pallet is formed in a single
piece to eliminate crevices and cavities that could potentially harbor bacteria,
mold, and other contaminants. Its see-through, open-grid top deck, smooth finish, and flow-through design make sanitization and cleaning easy, while facilitating quality inspections. Transporting and storing food and pharmaceuticals on
hygienic plastic pallets, along with correct handling procedures, can dramatically
reduce the risk of contamination.
Edge-rackable up to 2,200 pounds, the pallet measures 40 by 48 by 6. 25 inches and comes in two models: full perimeter picture frame or three-stringer. The
pallet is rated for a 30,000-pound static load or a 5,000-pound dynamic load. The
four-way fork entry design accommodates either forklifts or pallet jacks.
All hygienic pallet models weigh between 45 and 48 pounds. The pallet has an
extremely durable design, which increases the unit’s life and decreases cost per
trip, the company says.
ProStack One-Piece Hygienic Pallets can be made from several material options
depending upon customer requirements, including 100-percent recyclable, Food
and Drug Administration-approved high-density polyethylene or polypropylene.
They are also available with Factory Mutual Research Corp.-approved grades of
flame retardant, now with a non-decabromine additive. (Polymer Solutions

Labelview 9 software: Teklynx International, a
developer of automatic identification and data
collection software, has released Labelview 9
bar-code and label design software. Labelview
9 includes a completely redesigned interface
and many additional features to boost power
and speed. The easy-to-use software allows
users to quickly create labels and bar codes as
well as encode RFID tags. Custom forms simplify data entry, resulting in improved productivity
and fewer errors. The software package
includes integration with other systems, and it
is optimized for automated label printing.
Labelview 9 supports more than 50 bar code
types and 25 interface languages. The GS1-cer-
tified solution helps organizations meet compliance standards in virtually any industry.
Labelview 9 includes several new features.
New “wizards” simplify the creation of bar
codes and the addition of images, text, and
other information. A label conversion tool
makes it easier to upgrade labels and helps
manage printing by recommending the appropriate extended driver to use with the existing
printer. Database connectivity provides an easier
way to connect to a database and create
queries. A side-by-side view allows users to have
multiple labels open at the same time to perform an on-screen comparison. And an updated
printing interface includes a preview of the label
prior to printing in order to reduce errors.
