ZOMOFI Gate Access Management
System: Albis Technologies has introduced an
active RFID-based, stand-alone solution for
securing sensitive and controlled areas. The
ZOMOFI Gate Access Management System is
designed for the retail and wholesale sectors,
where doors and gates to warehouses, storage areas, and stock rooms need to be rigidly
controlled in terms of where, when, and to
whom access is granted.
The system uses stand-alone active RFID-enabled badges and readers. As a result, there
is no need to link up with PCs, servers, or
existing access control software.
The system’s ZOMOFI Z-Tag transponders
are available in different versions—both for
standard and ruggedized applications. The
badges act as hands-free, portable devices
and can be worn in many forms: as a bracelet,
on a lanyard, or as a card. Once the badge is
in range of the reader, it immediately sends
signals to the reader for granting access. The
system operates under a stand-alone control-and-signal transmission process that gives
authorized personnel or vehicles entrance
while automatically flagging anyone else as
access denied.
The readers have a switching interface for
controlling automatic doors, and settings can
be configured to suit the necessary access
requirements. In addition, authorized personnel can be registered at multiple stations, with
several hundred people or vehicles per station.
The ZOMOFI Gate Access Management
System can be used in a fully automated operation and integrates easily with existing automatic gates and doors without the need for any
retrofit. The system also functions at sub-zero
temperatures and in hazardous areas. (Albis

Paragon route optimization software:
Paragon Software Systems has updated its
route optimization software for private fleets
and transportation companies. The software’s
optimization algorithm has been improved to
do a better job of
planning routes
with multi-fre-quency deliveries.
The algorithm uses
information such
as customer locations, quantities, and service requirements.
These improvements also take into account
road networks and travel times.
The intelligent software automates the
planning of deliveries for periods of up to six
weeks. (Paragon Software Systems Inc.,
