Forklift lease program: Hyster Co.’s Power Advantage lease program for lift trucks
offers flexible end-of-term options and the ability to pay only for the hours used. The
new leasing program bills for the actual hours of use during a given month, allowing customers to enjoy a “pay-per-hour”-based finance solution. At the end of the
term, the truck can be returned for a new one or the lease extended.
Suitable for seasonal or mixed-use operations, the program locks in a per-hour rate
at the start of the lease and thus helps customers avoid overtime charges. Operations
that typically use a lift truck between 1,200 and 3,000 hours per year would be good
candidates for the program, says Hyster. (Hyster Co., www.hyster.com)
Stainless steel pusher: NuStar Inc. has introduced a stainless steel pedestrian-operated,
battery-operated Power Pusher. The new
stainless steel pusher is suitable for moving
heavy rolling loads in the manufacture or distribution of pharmaceuticals, food,
health/beauty aids, and other products in a
clean room or heavy wash-down application.
The Power Pusher runs on batteries, so it
doesn’t consume $4-per-gallon gasoline,
With a footprint of less than two square
yards, the Power Pusher is designed to be easily stored at a job site and is easy to transport
from site to site. One person can use the Power
Pusher to efficiently and safely push, pull, and
maneuver wheeled loads of up to 150,000
pounds or those with high rolling resistance.
Accessories and attachments include hitches,
tow bars, strobes, motion beepers, and push
plates. (NuStar Inc., www.powerpusher.com)
Express truck lanes: Freight transportation
provider Averitt Express has introduced two
new express lanes through The Reliance
Network to expedite shipments from selected
portions of the Southeast United States to the
West Coast. The Reliance Network is a group
of regional carriers working together to provide less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload, and
supply chain freight services throughout
North America.
Averitt customers with end-of-week shipments can now benefit from two- and three-day premium delivery service to the West
Coast at no extra cost. As a result of an
arrangement with Mountain Valley Express,
also a member of The Reliance Network,
Averitt’s LTL shipments can arrive on the West
Coast in two to four days. Averitt’s Nashville,
Tenn., and Dallas facilities serve as hubs for
freight consolidation along the way, making
this service possible.
Western U.S. cities that are part of the
new express lane program include Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose,
San Diego, and Sacramento in California;
Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada; and Phoenix
and Tucson in Arizona. (Averitt Express,
