TMS subscription: Trimble Transportation’s TMW.Suite and
TruckMate transportation management system (TMS) solutions
are now available via a cloud-based subscription model. Both
TMW.Suite and TruckMate enable transportation and logistics
service providers to better manage their transportation operations and improve efficiencies throughout their organization.
According to the company, the cloud-based options provide an
ideal solution for both asset- and nonasset-based companies of
all sizes looking to implement a scalable TMS without the need
for on-site servers or extensive IT oversight. On-premise options
will continue to be available as well, Trimble says.
The cloud-hosted versions of TMW.Suite and TruckMate are
offered as scalable subscription-based platforms designed to
fit fleets’ needs and adapt as their business grows. Trimble-managed upgrades also allow fleets to take advantage of
new software releases via managed updates, eliminating the
need for carriers to upgrade their systems manually. (Trimble

Rugged mobile computer: Rugged
mobile computer manufacturer Janam
Technologies LLC has introduced a
touch computer with a five-inch display and Google’s “Android Enterprise
Recommended” (AER) certification. As
part of the AER program, Janam’s XT200
runs feature-rich Android 8 (Oreo), can
be upgraded to Android 9 (Pie), and
supports five years of software-security
patches.
The XT200 is built to thrive in retail,
direct-store-delivery, and field-service
environments. From inventory tracking to point of sale to proof
of delivery, the XT200 computer streamlines operations, delivers
optimal efficiency, and elevates the customer experience, the
company says.
The XT200 combines a sleek, rugged smartphone-like
design with the latest technological advancements. Featuring
2D-imaging technology, integrated RFID (radio-frequency identification) and NFC (near-field communication) reading capabilities, and 13MP/5MP rear- and front-facing cameras, the XT200
allows users to address a wide spectrum of data-capture needs,
the company says. (Janam Technologies LLC, www.janam.com)
Constant-turn conveyor: Eaglestone Equipment has introduced its 1703 Series fabric constant-turn conveyor. The conveyor’s Accu-Track belt-tracking system keeps the fabric belt in
place in a constant turn to maintain product orientation, while
small-diameter discharge rollers allow for tight transfers.
Suitable for the food-processing industry, a food-grade belt
is used in conjunction with a cantilevered design for fast belt
changes and tool-less drip pan removal for quick and easy
cleaning. Other features include sealed bearings, multisegmented guard rails, and a fully adjustable nose roller. According to
the company, the operation of the 1703 Series is very quiet,
making it suitable for any environment. The standard speed is
60 fpm (feet per minute). For variable speeds, an optional Nema
4x VFD drive can be added. A stainless-steel drive and stainless
casters/levelers are also available. (Eaglestone Equipment, www.
