Pick-module safety gate: Wildeck Inc.
has introduced the “Finger Gate,” a new
pick-module impact gate. This steel gate easily integrates into any facility and provides a
protective barrier at elevated work levels, the
manufacturer says.
Compact AS/RS: KW Conveyors’ automated storage and retrieval systems are compact units that make use of underutilized overhead space in the plant or warehouse.
Products can be put on trays or hung from bars, which are affixed to chains/drives
to allow for raising and lowering. Multiple units can be put in pods, allowing an
operator to retrieve products in one unit while other units are moving.
Vertical carousels can also be outfitted with assorted control systems based on
the user’s need: simple up/lower control push buttons, a keypad automatic retrieval
station, or computer control utilizing either simple spreadsheet or database inventory control. (KW Conveyors, www.infismash.com)
The Finger Gate is
commonly used in pick
modules/rack systems to
help optimize the flow
of products, materials, or
merchandise throughout a
facility. The spring mechanism on
each “finger” allows the gate to be pushed
open by a pallet and to self-close as the pallet is unloaded or clears the gate. Wildeck’s
Finger Gates can be freestanding (mounted
to the deck) or rack-mounted, depending on
the specific application. While the Finger Gate
is commonly used for 40- by 48-inch pallets,
custom-sized gates are available.
The Finger Gates have been tested to run
over 20,000 cycles without failure and are
designed in accordance with IBC, OSHA, and
Cal-OSHA regulations, the company says.

Balemaster® balers
put more green in your pocket.
If you are not baling your waste now, or if you are baling manually, then
you’re spending too much time handling empty cardboard boxes. Balemaster®
balers can do the work for you. Balemaster® wide-mouth auto-ty balers send
money to your bottom line in many ways. Here are just two:
1. Conventional hand tying takes 7 to 10 minutes per bale. But Balemaster®
auto-ty balers process cardboard waste into a dense bale that is
automatically and securely tied in less than 30 seconds.
Made from bright-red PVC-coated fiber-glass-mesh curtain and four yellow heavy-duty polyester restraint straps, the Dok-Guardian
XL provides a visual and physical barrier
to mitigate potential falls from dock openings. Operated manually, the 58-inch-tall
curtain is able to stretch across openings
measuring up to 12 feet, 5 inches wide. The
barrier is anchored on both sides of a dock
opening with Rite-Hite steel warden guards,
which house the mesh curtain during loading/
unloading and provide door-track protection.
2. Balemaster® balers produce bales with the highest density per cubic foot.
So there’s more material per volume than any other baler. This reduces
annual baling wire costs and maximizes recycling revenue per load.
A light-duty model that’s capable of stopping up to 5,500 pounds of force is also
available, the manufacturer says.
Balemaster® balers are engineered to save energy, improve efficiency, reduce
wire usage, and lower maintenance costs. Being green is good business. But
pocketing green is even better.
Don’t crunch the numbers any other way.
More than a Source. A Resource.

The Dok-Guardian XL can be interlocked
with a Rite-Hite Dok-Lok vehicle restraint to
create a requisite sequence of operation,
ensuring full-time loading-dock safety. The
red light on the Dok-Lok control box indicates
when the Dok-Guardian XL’s curtain is safely
locked across the opening. When the lock
button is pressed, the light turns green and
the Dok-Guardian XL curtain releases to allow
for the loading or unloading of a trailer. (
