Electric pallet truck:
Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift
America Inc. (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich lift trucks
and narrow-aisle products in
the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, has introduced the 5,500-pound capacity Jungheinrich
ERE125/225/225DP pallet truck to its North
American product line. The electric-powered
pallet truck is designed to combine the maneuverability and comfort of a stand-on forklift
with the compact design of a walkie-end rider.
The pallet truck offers four available stand-on platforms. These optional platforms include
a foldable platform with restraint system for
application use in pedestrian mode; a fixed
compact platform with firm side walls; a
fixed elongated platform that is ergonomical-ly designed for safety and comfort; and an
order-picking platform with side entry for left-or right-handed operators.
The ergonomic operator compartment provides fatigue-free operation of the lift truck
over the entire shift. With increased control of
the pallet truck, operators can maintain a side-stance position and hold themselves steady
with one hand on the tiller and the other on
the fixed platform handle.
The ERE125/225/225DP comes with a powerful three-phase AC drive motor and “
intelligent” electronic controller. Progressive drive
technology and control electronics (
speedCON-TROL) were designed to provide productive and
energy-efficient operation with adjustments to
fit most applications.
New Jungheinrich products are supported by
a one-year/2,000-hour warranty that includes
parts and labor as well as components and
systems, and a two-year/4,000-hour extended
powertrain warranty. All Jungheinrich products are also backed by the Parts Fast or Parts
Free Guarantee that ensures next-business-day delivery by 5 p.m. of Jungheinrich parts
or the parts are free, including freight, in the
U.S. For customers in Canada and Mexico, the
guarantee ensures shipping of parts within
24 hours of the time the order was placed.

Enhanced routing/scheduling software: Paragon Software Systems Inc.,
a developer of in-vehicle routing and scheduling optimization solutions, has
updated the reporting functionality within its routing and scheduling software.
According to the company, the new capabilities help logistics operations keep
their plans from unraveling when vehicles leave the depot. Mapping images can
now be embedded into manifest and debrief documents to provide added guidance and feedback to drivers in an easy-to-understand format. This upgrade was
designed to help companies better engage with drivers to ensure that planned
routes are followed and associated efficiency, performance, and service improvements are achieved.
Paragon’s customers can access customized reports that deliver meaningful
business intelligence and share critical operational data using flexible reporting
capabilities embedded in the routing and scheduling software. The latest development means drivers have access to a visual overview of daily work schedules,
the sequence of drops, and details of planned routes. Debrief documents can also
incorporate mapping images that show planned versus actual routes taken, using
data taken from an integrated telematics system, so transport managers can discuss any unexpected diversions or discrepancies with the driver.
Paragon’s enhanced reporting capabilities come as standard in Version 6.0 of its
routing and scheduling software. A range of reports are set up and ready to use,
but the Paragon Support Team is also available to help customers create customized reports to ensure they are getting the most from their Paragon routing and
scheduling software. All generated documents are available in a printed or electronic format, along with a range of export options. (Paragon Software Systems
