Shuttle system: The YLog shuttle system from
YLog Industry Solutions provides a flexible, scalable storage system for distribution centers. Its
rack system can be fitted to the structure of the
existing building. As the company grows, shuttles and racks can be easily added.
YLog is based on freely moving shuttles that
are available in three standard sizes and are
equipped with swiveling wheels. The equipment’s power supply system allows the shuttles
to move independently in the racks, across levels, and beyond the limits of the aisle.
YLog Industry Solutions was recently
relaunched as a separate company in connection with Knapp AG. The company focuses on
scalable system solutions for medium-sized
businesses. (Knapp, www.knapp.com)
Order picking system guarantee: Integrated
Systems Design (ISD) will be announcing a new
program that guarantees the performance of
all order picking systems implemented by the
company. The program will cover all manual,
semiautomated, and automated order picking
systems and will be announced at the Modex
trade show in March.
As an integrator, ISD is technology and brand
neutral. As a result, it can choose the order
picking system that best matches the organization’s stock-keeping unit (SKU) profile, floor
space, labor, throughput, and velocity requirements, says the company. ISD has experience
implementing a wide range of material handling systems, including shelving, pick-to-light
systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, automated guided vehicles, automatic
guided carts, A-frames, carousels, vertical lift
modules, warehouse control systems, and
warehouse management systems. It is this flexibility and experience that allow the company
to make its guaranteed performance offer, ISD
says. (Integrated Systems Design,

Video-based help-desk support: Material
handling system provider Vanderlande
Industries has taken technical support to a
new level by offering its customers the option
of Eye4U, a real-time, video-based technical
support solution.
Eye4U is now an option within the
Vanderlande Industries hotline and help-desk
support services. Eye4U utilizes a hands-free video camera and two-way communication, so customers can work through support questions or troubleshooting
with live instruction from a help-desk specialist.
Eye4U’s live imaging saves time in diagnosing and correcting problems, according to Vanderlande. The use of video helps overcome possible language barriers
and miscommunication, the company says.
The head-worn camera unit is light and compact, and the recorder allows up to
nine hours of recording. Eye4U comes with a wireless remote control for quick, easy
video and image capturing. All live video and image streaming is encrypted for
secure communication and can only be accessed by authorized help-desk specialists.

Stacking dolly: The patented Morgan Stacking Dolly from Faultless Caster is
designed to make moving and storage easier and to take up significantly less
space than traditional moving dollies. Morgan Stacking Dolly’s compact and interlocking design allows as many as 35 dollies to be stacked in one 40-inch column.
The entire stack then navigates easily and safely through standard door openings
and keeps storage areas neat, accessible, and clutter-free. (Faultless Caster,
