Rack-supported safety gate: Mezzanine
Safeti-Gates Inc., a manufacturer of industrial
safety products for warehouses, DCs, and
manufacturing facilities, now offers its Pivot
safety gate in a rack-supported design. The
new Rack-Supported Pivot safety gate secures
pallet drop areas in rack-supported pick modules for picking positions and empty pallet or
tote return bays.
The safety gate has few moving parts and
includes a hydraulic damper for easy, ergonomic operation. The gate attaches directly to the
rack uprights in the module, which maximizes
space in the bay and creates a secure connection that does not require anchoring the gate
to the decking. According to the company,
the safety gates fit any manufacturer’s rack
configuration and come in standard single- and
double-wide sizes. The Rack-Supported Pivot
gate can also be custom designed to fit any
pallet load size.
The dual-gate system is designed to keep
employees working on upper levels of pick
modules safe. When the ledge-side gate is
up, the rear-side gate blocks employees from
the ledge. When the rear-side gate is raised
so employees can pick from the pallets, the
ledge-side gate is closed, making a barrier to
protect employees from falling from the ledge.

Warehouse sprinkler: Piping manufacturer
Victaulic has introduced the FireLock IGS Style
V9 sprinkler coupling and line of FireLock IGS
(innovative groove system) grooved sprinklers,
the fire industry’s first ready-for-installation
sprinkler that is UL-listed and FM-approved, the
company says.
Created to replace threads on both outlets
and sprinklers, this mechanical connection is
suitable for exposed applications, such as the
storage and warehouse market, according to
Victaulic. The sprinkler and coupling arrive on
site pre-assembled, with no loose parts, and
require no preparation before installation, the
company says. (Victaulic, www.victaulic.com/

Autonomous picking solution: IAM Robotics, a manufacturer of autonomous
fulfillment solutions, has introduced the Swift Pick Module, an e-commerce
goods-to-person or goods-to-robot solution designed to help logistics companies
address labor issues, increase capacity, and maintain operational flexibility.
The Swift Pick Module is a flexible AS/RS (automated storage and retrieval system) set up in a traditional warehouse environment where robots work around
the clock at human speeds and accuracy, picking individual items, handling bins
of materials, and performing replenishment duties. Robots bring goods to stations
for final packing, shipping, and other fulfillment processes. (IAM Robotics, www.

Adjustable workstation: Newcastle Systems has
introduced the Apex series height-adjustable workstation, a mobile cart that’s suitable for employees
working in manufacturing industries such as aerospace, automotive, and electronics. The unit gives
operators and managers full-screen access to enterprise resource planning, manufacturing execution,
and other information systems while on the move.
Manufacturing floor associates can go from standing
to sitting with the touch of a button, enabling them to
complete tasks quickly and safely, the company says.
The workstation features a 30- to 40-inch height range
(from floor to top shelf). (Newcastle Systems, www.
