Compact scissor lifts: Presto Ecoa
Lifts has introduced its CLT Series
compact scissor lifts. These industri-al-duty lifts are available in a wide
range of capacities, including 2,000,
3,000, 4,000, 5,000, and 6,000
pounds. They are suitable for a broad
array of work-positioning, assembly,
repair, and inspection applications
in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, repair shops, and more.
CLT Series lifts employ a double
scissor mechanism that allows for a
collapsed height of 8 1/2 inches while providing raised heights
of up to 56 1/2 inches. Lifting control is via a hand pendant or
foot switch.
Standard platforms range from 24 inches long by 36 inches
high up to 24 inches long by 60 inches high. Larger platforms,
up to 48 inches long by 84 inches high, are available. The lifts’
features include cylinders with internal stops, lifetime self-lubricating composite bearings, retained base and platform rollers,
and safety-restraint maintenance bars.
Options and accessories that can be furnished with CLT Series
lifts include portability kits, bellows guards, special platforms
(conveyor/ball transfer), limit switches, fork pockets, and power

Dealer-location app: Carrier Transicold, a company that makes
refrigeration systems for containers and trailers, has upgraded its
free app for mobile devices to allow refrigerated-truck operators
to find nearby Carrier Transicold dealerships. Now called “Carrier
Transicold Dealers,” the app works with smartphones and
tablets, so drivers can quickly and easily locate and connect to
service operations throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central
America, South America, and the Caribbean.
The upgraded app also allows access to more operator manuals for current and legacy Carrier Transicold truck and trailer
refrigeration systems, heating systems, and auxiliary power units
(APUs). As before, the app includes an alarm-code list for the
Carrier Transicold APX control system, providing descriptions of
potential problems and corrective steps for different warnings.
The “Nearby Dealers” function finds the closest dealer to the
user’s location, including a map, address, contact details, and
hours of operation. Depending on the device and connection,
the app can auto-dial the dealership and help provide navigation
to the dealership. Where applicable, quick links are provided
to connect to individual dealer websites or to share dealership
details via an e-mailed link to content within Carrier Transicold’s
online dealer locator.
Most of the app’s resources require a cell or Wi-Fi connection.
However, the dealer lookup menu is available offline. (Carrier

Shipment-tracking app: Pitt Ohio, a provider of regional and
national transportation and logistics services, has introduced
Delivery Track, an application that ties the shipment to the truck
to show its location along the delivery route, providing real-time

Forklift battery storage system: Material handling equipment
manufacturer Crown Equipment Corp. has introduced the
V-Force Lithium-Ion Energy Storage System (ESS) for forklift users
considering alternative energy sources to help reduce operating
costs and enhance productivity and efficiency. Initially available
for the Crown WP Series pallet truck, the V-Force Lithium-Ion ESS
will be available for Crown’s complete line of forklifts in 2019.
Components of the V-Force Lithium-Ion ESS include a UL-listed
lithium-ion battery pack, a compatible V-Force UL-listed charger,
and a fully integrated battery management system to extend
battery life by preventing operation outside of warrantied conditions. Using the truck display, the system shows battery discharge
levels and alerts the operator through an early warning system
before truck operation is stopped.
Lithium-ion batteries can be opportunity charged during operator breaks without adversely affecting battery life, which can
contribute to longer run times and eliminate the need for battery
changing. They do not emit gas during charging and do not
require special battery rooms. Lithium-ion batteries are also maintenance-free, which eliminates the need for battery watering.
All V-Force Lithium-Ion Energy Storage Systems will be sold
and supported by Crown’s extensive global retail network as
