Updated forklifts: Toyota Industrial
Equipment has introduced several new products, including a new reach truck, a new
80-volt electric forklift, and a high-capacity
internal combustion (IC) forklift.
Toyota’s new reach truck, available in
2,500- to 4,500-pound capacities, incorporates more than 500 engineering changes to
increase quality, reliability, and durability. The
new forklift includes extended service intervals and an increased powertrain warranty of
three years or 6,000 hours.
Toyota’s new 80-volt electric forklift is
available in 4,000- to 7,000-pound capacities.
Designed to work outdoors, 80-volt forklifts
are proven to have twice the run time of
36- and 48-volt models. They offer reduced
maintenance, improved ergonomics, and
increased productivity, according to Toyota.
Toyota’s new high-capacity IC forklift, available in 22,000- to 72,000-pound capacities, is
made for ports, lumber, oil and gas, and any
other industries where high-capacity forklifts
are used. (Toyota Industrial Equipment, www.

Rack manufacturing: Inser Robótica has
designed a range of robotic cells for manufacturing industrial racking. These cells can handle everything from beam profiling to welding
and painting to final palletizing.
The solutions can be divided into four different cells, according to Inser Robótica: the
welding cell, the hanging cell, the unhanging
cell, and palletizing cell. The welding cell
assembles profiles and connectors. The hanging cell uses a robot to automatically hang
beams and uprights on their way through
to the painting booth. The robot for the
unhanging cell unhangs the painted beams or
uprights and makes a bundle that is strapped
or wrapped afterward. Finally, the palletizing
cell palletizes the beams or uprights using two
high-load capacity robots.
The manufacturing cells can work with different types of beams (C, U, Z, or tube) and
connectors, and a wide range of positions
between beam and connector. They have a
production capacity of 450 beams per hour.

Shipping label and packing slip printer: ProForma’s Duplex Pack Slip allows users
to print shipping label and packing slips simultaneously on one printer. One pass
through the duplex printer generates the shipping label on the face stock and the
packing list on the back of the liner.
The product is designed especially for mail order houses, DCs, e-tailers, and other
operations that ship many single-carton orders. It is ideal for DCs that receive and
reship merchandise in the same sealed carton, the company says.
The use of a dual shipping label/packing list eliminates the need for plastic pouch-es for packing lists. (ProForma, www.proforma.com/topsource/index.html)
