Drum motor: Interroll
has developed the Interroll
Multiprofile, a new profile for
its asynchronous drum motors
and synchronous drum motors that
feature frequency converters. The
Multiprofile can be used to drive various
conveyor belts from different manufactur-
ers using only one Interroll Premium Hygienic PU Profile. This
translates into greater flexibility for customers because they can
replace belts without having to replace the drum motor. That, in
turn, reduces the time needed to retrofit and perform mainte-
nance work on the conveyors.
The Interroll Multiprofile is manufactured using Interroll
Premium Hygienic PU, a hygiene-friendly material. This new
material for rubber coating drum motors is well suited for positively driven belts and is known for its extremely smooth surface
that prevents bacteria from forming on the material. (Interroll,

Freight brokerage: Contract logistics company Exel and its
sister company DHL Supply Chain have created a new freight
brokerage company, Exel Freight Connect, to help connect
customers with carriers for freight transportation needs. Exel
Freight Connect offers custom freight brokerage solutions and a
network of reliable carriers, allowing Exel to respond to capacity requests across transportation modes for the United States,
Canada, and Mexico.
Exel Freight Connect will be a multiclient and multisector
service, specializing in truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and
expedited shipments.
Exel Freight Connect expects to draw customers from sectors
such as consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, and automotive, among others. While focusing initially on dry freight, the
company does offer flatbed, temperature-controlled, intermodal freight, and other specialized transportation services. (Exel

AGV fleet optimization: Seegrid Corp., a developer of
automated guided vehicles (AGVs), has introduced Seegrid
Supervisor, a fleet optimization software system for AGVs. The
technology provides real-time visibility, control, and automation
of the AGV fleet. It is designed to connect, monitor, and control
vision-guided AGVs within a facility.
Seegrid Supervisor communicates with the AGVs via wireless
network and is configured through a local Web browser to connect, monitor, and control vision-guided AGVs within a facility.
The architecture of Seegrid Supervisor allows for integration
with external control devices like programmable logic controllers
(PLCs) or existing software systems, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and manufacturing execution systems
(MES). (Seegrid Corp., www.seegrid.com)
e-Commerce shipping technology: Endicia, a provider of
e-commerce shipping technology, has added a direct integration
to Amazon to its shipping software’s capabilities. Sellers can
now connect their Amazon store to Endicia’s software, allowing
them to import orders from Amazon and post back tracking
information.
This eliminates the need to copy and paste, reducing manual
error and allowing sellers to meet Amazon’s shipment confirmation requirements. Endicia also provides label customization
options that are not available through Amazon, allowing sellers
to create a professional look and promote their brands.
Endicia’s software is compatible with both Macs and PCs. The
new feature is available starting at $15.95/month with Endicia’s
Endicia for Mac and Endicia Premium service plans, as well as
through the Endicia Professional service plan for $34.95/month.
Endicia’s services are also integrated into more than 200
e-commerce service providers. These partnerships provide online
sellers with fast and efficient label printing services from within
the programs they use to manage their businesses every day.

Bulk boxes: Buckhorn Inc., a
supplier of reusable plastic packaging and material handling systems, is expanding its series of
BN4845 extra-duty bulk boxes.
Originally, the box was designed
in 25-inch and 34-inch heights
The new boxes are stocked in black and have a capacity of
2,000 pounds, the highest capacity in the industry for all-plastic
bulk boxes of the same size, according to the company. The
BN4845 series boxes have sturdy, structural foam panels as well
as an injection-molded two-piece welded base.
The boxes securely stack with competitive bins when upright or
collapsed and provide four-way forklift entry. They are available
with or without drop-down doors. The doors are 31. 7 inches
wide and do not block fork openings, minimizing damage to the
container. The boxes are also easy to repair. The panels simply
snap into the base, while the latches and hinges lock into the
door.
Buckhorn’s BN4845 boxes are 100-percent recyclable. These
extra-duty boxes feature added decoration areas often required
for industrial applications, including multiple recessed ID tag
areas on all four sides of the base and additional flat surfaces
on the panels and doors for labels or RFID tags. (Buckhorn Inc.,
