Product name: MicroMedia–
Ultrafine Grinding to the Lower
Nano-Range
Attributes/comments: Buhler has
launched the all new, pilot size,
high-tech agitated bead mill,
MicroMedia P1 last year and now
follows up with the introduction of
the larger production size
MicroMedia mill P2 and P3. The
specific technology of introducing
grinding energy and the internal
product flow are especially designed
for a safe and reliable use of
extremely fine beads from 300 µm
down to 20 µm. Depending on the
requirements of different material
systems, the operating conditions
can be varied from “soft milling” up
to “high energy grinding,” and combined with unusually high flow
rates. Highest levels of quality standards can be achieved, corresponding with narrow particles size distributions in the lower nanometer
range. An outstanding feature of the
innovative mill concept is that the
obtained results can be linearly
scaled up to the production size
mills of the MicroMedia series.

Product name: Dyno-Mill Research
Lab
Attributes/comments: CB Mills has
introduced the Dyno-Mill Research Lab
featuring: dispersing and grinding viscosity products to nano ranges; small
product batch volumes; grinding products without metal contamination using
ceramic wetted contact parts; the use of
small grinding media size from 0.05-1.0
mm. The Dyno-Mill Research Lab
achieves product quality, particle distribution, sub-micron particle size and viscosity range. CB Mills also offers modern process controls, which record all
relevant process data and allows data
acquisition and documentation on a PC.
CDC Microtron USA, Inc.
Grayslake, IL

Product name: Microtron Bead Mill
Attributes/comments: The new
patented Microtron bead mill has a
unique double-helix bead band technology that produces uniform narrow
particle size distribution resulting in
micron or sub-micron dispersion, often
in a single pass. The Microtron incorporates an innovative new concept in
dispersion mechanics by maximizing
energy transfer into a low volume, concentrated bead mass. Optimum control
of the manufacturing process by use of
a computer controlled operator system.
Testing equipment available.

Product name: DCP Nanostar
Attributes/comments: The new Drais
DCP Nanostar media mill is specifically
designed to produce nanomaterials previously unattainable. The highly efficient energy utilization during nano-grinding via the use of ultra-small
grinding media (down to 20 micron),
superior product temperature control
and the elimination of metal contamination are some of the key features of the
new Nanostar. DCP Nanostar offers
high energy density milling, internal
true-media recirculation and the most
efficient grinding media/product separation by centrifugal force. Drais DCP
Nanostar sets new standards in wet
grinding of high tech products down to
