Rohm and Haas names president and COO
Rohm and Haas has named Pierre R.
Brondeau, president and chief operating officer, as well
as approved the formation of the chairman’s committee to
oversee the direction of the company. Brondeau joined
Rohm and Haas in
1989 and most Pierre R. Brondeau
recently served as
executive vice president and business
group executive for the company. His
Rohm and Haas executive experience
spans a broad array of international
experience in research and development, sales and marketing, general
management and executive leadership.
The newly formed chairman’s committee will include Raj L. Gutpal, chairman and CEO; Brondeau, president
and COO and Jacques M. Croisetiere,
executive vice president.
CHEMTURA NAMES DEPEW
VICE PRESIDENT GLOBAL SALES
Chemtura Corp. has named Rick DePew
vice president, global sales, performance specialties,
including the company’s petroleum
additive and urethane businesses.
He succeeds Rick
Beitel, who is retir-
ing. DePew joins Rick DePew
Chemtura from
Nova Chemicals, where he served as
business director for the advanced foam
resins business. Prior to that position, he
was commercial director for Nova
Chemical’s polyethylene business. He
also worked for the Dow Chemical Co. for
23 years, where he served as global
director of procurement for strategic cap-
ital purchases, director of sales for the
polyolefins and elastomers business,
regional sales manager for the
polyurethanes/epoxies business and
other sales, marketing and commercial
roles.
SILBERLINE MANUFACTURING
MAKES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
Silberline Manufacturing Co., Inc.
has named James E. Mason vice
president of operations. Prior to joining Silberline, Mason was employed
by BASF Corp. in Ohio.
Hai-Hui Lin has been named global manager, special effects and substrate technology. Most recently, Lin
held the position of senior scientist,
R&D for Day International, Inc.
In addition, Robert D. Haines has
been named executive accounts manager. Haines most recently held the
position of regional sales manager
for Eckart America.
SARTOMER MAKES ORGANIZATIONAL
CHANGES IN U.S. TECHNOLOGY GROUP
Sartomer Company has named
Henry Miller manager of UV/EB
technical development. In this new
role, Miller will concentrate on growing UV/EB opportunities in new
developing applications and markets.
Miller previously served as manager
of UV/EB technology.
In other personnel news, Sartomer
promoted James Goodrich to manager of UV/EB technology. In this role,
he will be responsible for managing
Sartomer’s overall UV/EB technology
group and will retain the lead role in
UV/EB graphic arts.
Josh Oliver returns to the U.S. as manager of UV/EB specialty applications
after spending three and a half years at
Sartomer Europe as technical manager,
graphic arts. Oliver will be responsible
for developing data for new specialty
applications in high-growth markets.
POWDER-X COATINGS SYSTEMS
MAKES TWO APPOINTMENTS
Powder-X Coatings Systems has
appointed Joey R. Golliver president and
CEO. Golliver has been in the powder
coating industry for 22 years and has
served as operations manager at
Powder-X for the past six years.
The company has also hired Gerald
Burchett as vice president of sales and
marketing. He brings more than 26
years of experience in the coatings industry to his new position. His duties will
include overseeing the continued expansion of Powder-X as an international
source as well as broadening the distributor base for Powder-X products.
MICHELMAN MAKES
SEVERAL PERSONEL MOVES
Michelman has made a number of personnel additions and promotions. Luc
Vanderstappen has been promoted to
European business manager, chemical
specialties. David Williams has been
tapped as Michelman's new senior account
manager, Europe. Yves De Smet, has
been appointed global marketing manager for Michelman's fibers and composites business. Linus Yoong has been
hired as new business development
manager, Asia, and will be based out of
Michelman's Singapore office.
DOW CORNING NAMES KEMPF
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY MANAGER
Dow Corning has named Doug
Kempf construction application engineering and technical services
(AETS) manager. Kempf will provide
leadership to the group responsible
for managing the day-to-day technical activities required to support
Dow Corning’s participation in various construction markets within
North and South America. CW
