BASF names Ordonez group VP, coatings
BASF has appointed Juan Carlos
Ordonez group
vice president,
coatings, in North
America. He is
based in
Southfield, MI.
Ordonez joined
BASF South
America in 1982.
Since then he has Juan Carlos Ordonez
served in a variety
of management roles with increasing
responsibility in North America,
South America and at global BASF
headquarters in Ludwigshafen,
Germany. Most recently, Ordonez
served as vice president responsible
for BASF automotive refinish and
industrial coatings in North America.
LUBRIZOL MAKES
MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Lubrizol Corp. has made a number of
management changes to better support
the company’s business objectives. The
newly appointed leadership will focus
on enhancing product innovations
across the enterprise, improving operating efficiencies across the global
manufacturing and supply chain structure, managing enterprise risk and
executing key bolt-on acquisitions that
are complementary to existing product
lines.
Steve Kirk was promoted to senior
vice president and chief operating officer, in charge of both Lubrizol Additives
(LZA) and Lubrizol Advanced
Materials (LZAM) business segments.
Larry Norwood was promoted to corporate vice president, operations, leading operations personnel and infrastructure for both LZA and LZAM.
Bob Graf was promoted to corporate
vice president, R&D, leading research
strategy and the development of its scientific community for both LZA and
LZAM.
Greg Lewis was promoted to corporate vice president, global risk management and chief ethics officer, with oversight of loss prevention activities; the
health, safety, environment and security function and corporate ethics for
both LZA and LZAM.
Dan Sheets was promoted to corporate vice president and president, LZA.
Don Bogus, senior vice president,
Lubrizol Corp. and president of LZAM
will retire from Lubrizol effective
January 2, 2009. Eric Schnur was promoted to corporate vice president and
president, LZAM.
SARTOMER NAMES ROSE GLOBAL
STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGER
Sartomer Company has named
Michael Rose glob-
al strategic ac-
count manager. In
this position, Rose
is responsible for
coordinating and
growing sales,
developing sales
strategy and inter-
nal resources for Michael Rose
Sartomer’s global
accounts. He will report to Al Tuccio,
vice president, Americas. Rose has
held several positions with Sartomer,
most recently serving as manager of
photocure monomers in Europe.
Previously in the U.S., he worked as
market manager for chemical special-
ties, responsible for overseeing prod-
ucts within a variety of markets,
including coatings, inks, adhesives
and sealants.
SUN CHEMICAL MAKES
TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS
Sun Chemical has named Felipe
Mellado chief marketing officer and
Bradley Schrader vice president of
strategy and business development.
As the chief marketing officer, Mellado
will oversee all of Sun Chemical’s corporate marketing activities and product management including global
branding activities, trade show participation and all other marketing communications. Schrader was named
vice president of strategy and business development after serving as the
company’s chief marketing officer for
the past two years.
DOW IZOLAN ANNOUNCES
NEW LEADERSHIP
Dow Izolan, the joint venture company
between Dow Chemical and Russian
polyurethane systems producer, Izolan,
has named Mikhail Tsarfin general
manager. Since the JV formation in
2006, Tsarfin has been the company’s
sales and marketing director and first
deputy general manager. Tsarfin succeeds Aldo de Santi, who will assume
expanded business responsibilities
while keeping his current role of commercial director for Northern Europe
for the Dow Polyurethane Systems
business.
Sergey Anikin, currently sales and
marketing manager for Dow Base and
Performance Chemicals in Russia and
the former Soviet Union, has been
named Dow Izolan sales and marketing
director and will be located in Vladimir.
QUAKER CHEMICAL NAMES
BARRY PRESIDENT AND CEO
Michael F. Barry, formerly senior vice
president and managing director,
North America, Quaker Chemical
Corp., has been named president and
CEO. In addition, he was elected as a
member of the board of directors.
Barry has held a variety of senior
management positions with Quaker,
joining the company in 1998 as CFO.
Prior to joining Quaker, Barry was
employed at Lyondell, where he held
senior positions in business management and finance. CW
