Cognis offers Sovermol 815 “green” polyol
Cognis has launched Sovermol 815 branched poly-ether/polyester to meet the demands of solvent-free
polyurethane systems for industrial floor coatings. Sovermol
bio-based polyols are free from solvents and VOCs. Sovermol
815 combines good technological and environmental properties bringing about a balanced viscosity profile, high resistance to acids and alkaline solutions, good UV stability and pigment wetting as well as being markedly hydrophobic, according to the company. WACKER OFFERS ELASTOSIL
IMPROVED SILICONE SEALANTS
Wacker has developed three novel silicone sealants, Elastosil
7000 N, Elastosil 8000 N and Elastosil 9000 N, to supplement
its existing construction sealants range for window construction, door seals and sanitary applications. These three novel silicone rubber compounds meet customer demands by offering
improved curing, cracking resistance and processing times.
Elastosil 7000 N, 8000 N and 9000 N also have a higher paste
viscosity, a characteristic that simplifies the smoothing process.

CIBA INTRODUCES XYMARA FIREBALL EFFECT PIGMENT
Ciba has launched Xymara Fireball, a versatile “color-travel”
effect pigment. Ciba Xymara Fireball combines unique effects
and shade depth with excellent technical properties, according
to the company. Its high durability makes Xymara Fireball
suitable for exterior automotive coatings and other high-performance applications, including consumer goods such as
mobile phones and electronic devices. Applied as a stand-alone
pigment in coatings applications, Fireball gives a shade that
varies from orange/gold to a deep cherry red, as the angle of
observation changes. Transparency also makes it suitable for
use in combination with different chromatic transparent pigments as well as in multilayer paint systems, giving new,

ELIOKEM INTRODUCES PLIOTEC CR30
FOR LOW VOC FORMULATIONS
Eliokem has introduced Pliotec CR30 resin to aid in low VOC
formulations. This acrylic latex was designed specifically for
high performance low VOC (below 50 g/l) garage floor coatings and can meet some of the most stringent regulations
such as SQAMD (South Coast), without compromising performance, according to the firm. Pliotec CR30 was developed
for horizontal concrete applications where chemical resistance, good adhesion, early water resistance and hot tire pick

BROOKFIELD UPDATES DV- 11+PRO VISCOMETER
Brookfield Engineering has recently launched the newly
redesigned DV-II+Pro Viscometer. It features bi-direc-tional communication when used with a dedicated computer. Utilizing Brookfield Rheocalc32 software, the
instrument can be controlled by the computer. The viscometer can be used for single point viscosity measurement or it can be configured to run automated tests in
