New Products
Construction adhesives from White Lightning
White Lightning’s newest product rollout
includes WL2000 Drywall and All-Purpose
Adhesive, WL4000 Panel Construction
Adhesive, and WL6000 and WL6500
Subfloor Adhesives.
White Lightning Caulks & Sealants
has introduced WL2000 Drywall and
All-Purpose Adhesive, WL4000 Panel
Construction Adhesive, and WL6000
and WL6500 Subfloor Adhesives to
simplify the construction process for
contractors and DIYers by reducing
the number of nails and screws needed for installation and repair.
WL2000 Drywall and All Purpose
Construction Adhesive provides a
durable, permanent adhesion to drywall,
hardboard, particleboard, gypsum wallboard, fiberglass, ceramics, tiles as well
as trim. The WL2000’s smooth, easy
application provides heat and water
resistance. WL4000 Panel Construction
Adhesive is designed to increase structural strength, providing a durable, permanent adhesion to wood or vinyl paneling, gypsum wallboard, drywall, hardboard or metal.
White Lightning’s heavy-duty subfloor
adhesives, the WL6000 and WL6500 also
meet FHA and HUD housing requirements and are ideal for use on subfloors,
wet and frozen lumber, tongue and
groove flooring, decks, ramps, porches,
steps, stairs, drywall, wood, cementitious
board, plywood, particleboard, vinyl and
aluminum.
INTERNATIONAL PAINT’S
NEW INTERTHERM 898 CSA
International Paint has introduced
Intertherm 898 CSA, a two component
cold spray aluminum coating system
designed to help steel fabricators protect
piping from corrosion and a wide-range
of temperatures with a single coating
solution.
The metallic flake pigmented coating
is suited for new pipe fabricaton because
of its flexibility in offering protection in
temperature scenarios ranging from -
265°F to 1050°F, effectively eliminating
the complex, time-consuming and costly
task of specifying different paint systems when coating high volumes of
insulated and uninsulated pipes.
Intertherm 898 CSA’s patented resin-based, single coat, high build system also
offers protection against corrosion under
insulation (CUI) and can be applied
using standard spray techniques and
equipment. The formulation cures at
ambient temperatures, thereby removing the need for stoving, as required by
some CUI systems.
NEW HEMPASIL X3 HYDROGEL
SILICONE FOULING RELEASE
Hempasil X3 is a new third-generation
system launched by Hempel A/S that
has been shown to cut a vessel’s fuel bill
by up to $1.5 million each year and can
also significantly lower CO emissions
2
to reduce a vessel’s carbon footprint.
The Hempasil X3 system is the only
fouling release system in the industry to
feature pioneering hydrogel technology,
the company said, and the system comes
as a package that includes the paint system, the fuel saving guarantee and a
third-party fuel monitoring system,
making it simple for users to really
measure the fuel saving benefits.
Hempasil X3 uses hydrogel silicone to
prevent fouling on a vessel’s hull. The
water-absorbent hydrogel forms a polymeric network over the hull. Organisms
perceive the hull as a liquid and not a
solid surface and as a result, don’t try to
catch hold. The hydrogel layer is effectively backed up by silicone, known for
its self-cleaning properties.
Hempasil X3 can be specified for 90-
month service intervals, and it works at
speeds as low as eight knots and is still
effective at 50% activity levels. This
means longer intervals between dry-docking, and at the same time makes
fouling release coatings relevant for a
greater range of ships.
