Technology Manager, Rettinger
will be responsible for exploring
and developing new generation
product technologies for Chromaflo’s
thermoset plastic business.

Rettinger has been employed at
Chromaflo since January 1994. He led
development of key proprietary technol-
ogies currently sold in the coatings and
thermoset markets. His technical prow-
ess and proven experience will continue
to be a valuable resource. He has held
various positions as well throughout the
years including Research Scientist and
Product Development Specialist, Ludwig
focused on the optimization of thickener
products and processes as well as devel-
oping and introducing new thickener
technologies to the market. Her experi-
ence with the intricacies of SMC com-
pounding and knowledge of Chromaflo’s
technologies will be instrumental in her
new role.

The new laboratory includes state-of-the-art ductless fume hood technology as well as a high-efficiency
downdraft booth to collect dust during dry powder transfer and handling.
Additional investments have been made
in new instrumentation, including a
high performance differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and additional
test equipment. These changes improve
MPI’s abilities to design novel new
products, solve customer problems, and
perform application studies.

Cheryl Ludwig has accepted the position of Thermoset Product Development
Scientist. She will assist Paul in leading
the organization in the development and
exploration of new technologies.

Laboratory Expansion

Ludwig has been employed at
Chromaflo since June 2004; she joined
Chromaflo after years of experience in the
Micro Powders has completed an expan-
sion of its Tarrytown, NY product develop-
ment laboratory that triples the size of the
previous space. The new laboratory is flex-
ibly designed to support product develop-
ment activities for both the industrial and
personal care divisions of the company.
