Dates Set, Judges Named
for Benjamin Moore Hue Awards
Benjamin Moore has issued its Hue
Awards Call for Entries. The competition, now in its 6th year, recognizes
exceptional use
of color in architecture and
interior design,
and will begin
accepting submissions April
15, 2013, with
a July 12th
deadline. There
is no fee to
enter; down-loadable entry
forms and instructions are
available at www.benjaminmoore.
com or can be found in Nuance, the
company’s online publication for the
A+D community. Since establishing
the Hue Awards in 2005, Benjamin
Moore has presented more than
$160,000 in prize money to the design profession in categories that include Residential Interiors, Residential
Exteriors, Contract Interiors and
Contract Exteriors. Additionally, there
is a Lifetime Achievement Award,
plus past years have seen the presentation of discretionary awards for
Social Responsibility and also one for
Restoration and Preservation.
A $5,000 cash prize goes to each
honoree along with a Huey mouth-blown crystal sculpture.
The Hue Award judges who will
meet in mid-October to review entries
also have been named. The group includes: Eve Ashcraft, architectural color
consultant; Brian Gluckstein, Toronto-based interior designer and CEO,
GlucksteinDesign and GlucksteinHome;
Murray Moss, design entrepreneur and
founder of Moss design gallery; Chee
Pearlman, design curator and founder
of Chee Company; and Susanne Slesin,
publisher/editorial director, Pointed
Leaf Press and well-known former design journalist.

Moore Hue Awards since its inception is
owing to the extraordinary experience
and stature of the individuals who serve as

year six of Huey are towering figures in

collective enthusiasm for the program,

Valspar Paint Launches
New Multi-Platform, Fully-
Integrated Advertising
Campaign
Valspar Paint recently launched a new
multi-platform, fully-integrated advertising campaign supporting the extension of
the Valspar Love Your Color Guarantee,
their unique color assurance program
offers a complimentary
replacement
color to anyone who does
not absolutely
love their first
color choice.
The new
advertising campaign stars two chameleons –
Val and Jon– in live-action and 3D animation
who embark on their own journey of change
and improvement by using their natural ability to change color to help choose the right
color palette for their home. Tapping into
the “love your color, or change your color”
theme offered via the Valspar Love Your
Color Guarantee, the campaign reinforces
the brand’s commitment to helping everyone
connect to the power in color and underscores how easy it is to find the right color
and transform any space.
The new 30- and 15-second television spots called “Choices” will run on a
diverse mix of programming across major
broadcast and cable networks. The program will be supported by advertisements
featured in national print home and life-style publications, in addition to digital
and radio components.
Print advertisements will begin running in May issues of Better Homes
and Gardens, Country Living, HGTV
Magazine, House Beautiful, Real Simple
and Traditional Home. Digital and radio
components, as well as signage in Lowe’s
stores nationwide, will complement the
commercial launch.
Valspar is also supporting the extension through social media with the
“Valspar Color Project,” an online video
series featuring celebrity couples sharing
their color transformation stories, ben-efitting Habitat for Humanity.
Hemp Shield Appoints
Kendall Marketing Service
to Lead Product’s National
Rollout
Hemp Shield, an Oregon-based manufacturer of wood stain and sealers has
