CeralUSA Announces ISO
9001:2008 Compliance
CeralUSA LLC, a manufacturer of environmentally friendly coatings for the
aerospace, power generation, and oil
and gas industries, announced that its
Quality Management System was recently audited and found to be in full compliance with the International Standards
Organization (ISO) 9001:2008 quality
system standard. This compliance follows
an extensive audit of CeralUSA’s Sales,
Design and Development, Procurement,
Production, and Quality processes. The
Moore Norman Technology Center’s
certified ISO auditors deemed these processes along with CeralUSA’s internal
documentation fully compliant.
The ISO 9001:2008 standard mandates Quality Management System
(QMS) requirements that guide an organization’s actions for meeting and improving upon customer satisfaction and
quality requirements. By establishing a
compliant QMS system, CeralUSA has
the process in place to continuously improve service and quality.
“As a young, fast growing company,
CeralUSA has always had outstanding
fundamentals in the eyes of many business leaders,” said Suzanne Bodger, managing partner of CeralUSA. “With this
letter of compliance, our customers can
be confident that CeralUSA is dedicated
to maintaining the highest level of efficiency and responsiveness, with the ultimate goal of 100% customer satisfaction.
We regard our ISO compliance as only
the first in a line of benchmarks we intend
to achieve this year.”
AkzoNobel Brings Let’s
Colour Project to Ashington
A team from AkzoNobel visited
Northumberland College in Ashington,
U.K. to celebrate a new mural, painted
as part of the Let’s Colour initiative run
by the global paints and coatings company, in association with Groundwork
North East.
AkzoNobel provided paint, materials
and equipment for students at the college who designed and painted a huge
four-by-eight meter mural on the south
side of the main building, the tallest in
Ashington. The college is just a mile from
AkzoNobel’s state-of-the-art £100m
manufacturing plant, which is currently
under construction, and due to commence operations in 2014.
Student Jade McCormack was present to celebrate the official unveiling of
her design, which was inspired by the
Woodhorn Colliery cutter and pit wheel,
and includes the Northumberland flag
colors as the basis for the background.
McCormack was joined by the painting and decorating students who brought
the design to life, as well as staff from
the college, local MP Ian Lavery, councillors from Ashington Town Council
and Northumberland County Council,
and employees from AkzoNobel’s nearby manufacturing site. Also joining the
celebrations was the Dulux Dog, representing one of AkzoNobel’s best-known
U.K. brands.
BehrPro Donates Product,
Provides Volunteers to
Repaint 9/11 Tribute Center
BehrPro, the professional products
and services division of Behr Process
Corporation, recently donated 160 gallons of Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint,
and painting supplies, to the 9/11 Tribute
Center, a non-profit organization. In addition, more than 20 local BehrPro employee volunteers helped to repaint the
organization’s New York City lower level
gallery. Initiated through the company’s
Behr Cares program—which aims to
create a positive difference in local communities through fundraising, donations
and community service—volunteers repainted the organization’s museum that
was in need of restoration.
“We’re extremely thankful to the
BehrPro volunteer team for donating not
only high-quality paint but committing
to help our organization and mission by
dedicating their time and painting ex-
pertise,” said Jennifer Adams, chief ex-
ecutive officer of the 9/11 Tribute Center.
“Their efforts have refreshed the envi-
ronment and brightened our staff and
local volunteers.”
Behr Premium Plus Ultra —a paint
and primer in one—enabled the volunteer
team to repaint multiple rooms, including
the basement area, and wall trim
in one day. In addition to providing a time efficient, durable coating, the dual-action paint helped
to seal and protect both uncoated and
previously painted surfaces.
“One of the guiding principles of the
Behr culture is to ‘do the right thing.’ We
believe wholeheartedly in this core value
and it has allowed us to create opportunities for our employees to make a positive
impact in local communities,” said Colin
Jaffe, senior vice president of operations
for professional products and services
at Behr. “We support the 9/11 Tribute
Center’s mission and it’s been our honor
to help beautify the organization’s office.”
The 9/11 Tribute Center offers visitors
to the World Trade Center site a place
where they can connect with people from
the September 11 community. Through
walking tours, exhibits and programs,
the 9/11 Tribute Center offers “Person
to Person History,” linking visitors with
the historic events and those who experienced them.
Several PPG Products
Receive Greenguard
Certification
Nine products from PPG Industries’ architectural coatings business recently received Greenguard Certification, aiming
to protect human health through reduced
air-quality effects and reduced chemical
exposure.
The certification process, supported by
the Greenguard Environmental Institute,
helps manufacturers create interior products and materials that have low chemical
emissions, reducing impact on air quality
while the products are used. Certifications
in several program segments help buyers
identify and trust brands and products to
use for important projects.
The following products recently re-
ceived Greenguard Certification for the
Indoor Air Quality and Children and
Schools programs:
•Seal Grop Interior/Exterior Acrylic
Universal Primer/Sealer
